There are tons of people who shipped Zhenya and Yuzuru, more than friends. Honestly, these skaters are famous now, as they should be they're amazing, and with that comes a fandom. Not what they usually do? I have to say on the contrary, that's exactly what they do. Tessa and Scott, Charlie and Meryl, Zhenya and Yuzuru, now Alina and Nathan. I don't see a problem with shipping them, whether in their friendship or saying they shared a cute moment for something more. They're not implying that they did anything else, just had a moment and looked cute together. Alina is young but I'm sure her team has media trained her; it's unavoidable on the internet. There have been much worse comments about her, like not deserving her gold medal which would affect her much more than some comments about her giving high 5's to Nathan, and she for the most part is unphased. It comes with the territory, as it does with any other skater or anyone well known. And even if they're saying Alina and Nathan have something going on (which I haven't seen, and they're definitely not) it isn't selling her in some cheap vulgar way. They're both talented skaters and people are just intrigued. It's not like people are saying oh now she's going to throw away her skating for some guy. People just appreciate that they had a moment.
