Journalists asked about her reaction after learning that she won the OGM.
She asked them: do you think that an athlete is happy or sad in this situation? I am very happy, it represents a step forward in my skating career.
I am usually a reserved person.
It's not quite right and shortened/simplified version of translation and it doesn't convey nuances. It was said by her with sarcasm implying journalists are fools for even asking such obvious questions (question was: was she happy or sad after receiving the medal)

I wonder what the problem is... I find her answer quite undiplomatic and usually this means that the person is bothered in his/her internal state by something, she's not at peace.
i think the problem is almost hysteria in russia. at some point Med have to loose. better to countrywoman
It in the most popular newspaper of Russia:
Tarasova: Judges have taken away gold from Medvedeva.
The famous Russian figure skating coach Tarasova have said that to Medvedeva have condemned at the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.
https://www.kp.ru/online/news/3031697/
When showed Free Program from Pyeongchang at the prime time on television, Tarasova's comments on Medvedeva and Osmond have been cut out by censorship.
this is post from Med ff:
Ugh this I horrible. It's one things for public to say what they want, as is their right. Every skater has gotten these comments from the public at one point in time, and Evgenia has too when she started. But for TAT who is a prominent person in figure skating in Russia, this is horrible and unprofessional. I can't believe Alina has to put up with this crap, this stuff never happens in Canada with Gabby and Kaetlyn. Can you imagine being 15 working your whole life and getting first olympic gold for your country and then have TAT telling you it was a mistake and you don't deserve it....
The question was sth like "why weren't you smiling right after victory, weren't you happy?".I wonder what the problem is... I find her answer quite undiplomatic and usually this means that the person is bothered in his/her internal state by something, she's not at peace.
Btw, in Russia it is not customary always smile in public - rather opposite. So there is this misperception due to differences in mentality too.
Better quality and different angle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYrKGBQ5bv0Found a video with Alina's little sister and her former coach Natalia Antipina watching her free skate

Their reaction in the end is so cute..:hap57:

She sure can handle stressful situations and nothing could be worse than having the dope police interrupt her practice before the SP to get a sample from her. Her guts are unreal. Awesome. Zhenya too.I'm so impressed how Alina has changed since... December. She is so confident now. She is able to handle the most stressful situations on the ice. Evgenia was phenomenal and left no room for mistakes to Alina. Even one UR, one stepout/turnout would have cost Alina gold, but Alina didn't make any mistakes. To me she's absolutely an adult skater now.
