Alina Zagitova

she was also injured before olympics, nothing stop her from going.

It was the olympics possibly her only olympics so she was going even if she was injured. Zhenya has won 2 worlds. Lets let her rest and heal she has earned it. Words in an Olympic year is maybe even less important than Europeans. I wish Zhenya went to worlds but understand why she didnt.

I'm thankful and glad now that she got the Olympics and I witnessed those two great programs at Pyeongchang. We'll always have that Alina. :ghug:

Poor girl. She's only 15, she just won the OGM and had to go to a bunch of state functions and didn't have time to train and was sick. She probably thinks it's the end of the world, and it is the end of her world as she knows it. But she is a strong little firecracker and I believe in her. I believe in the Alina that we know to rise back from this just like she did from 2016 JGP Slovenia and 2017 EYOF. She still gets GPs next season and currently tops the SB list. She can win a world medal next year. I just wish it were this year.

I didn't expect that at all.:( Poor baby, her worst skate in a very long time. And to me it looks like she lost some weight.:(
But still a lot to be proud of in this season after all. There is a reason why olympic champions skip WCh so often, and she is still so young.

I think it is for the best... it will help her to stay humble and real. And she'll be motivated to work hard for that world medal next season(s).
I personally knew that she's not so strong mentally as Evgenia.... maybe she was also tired and lost concentration... i don't know

I think she is very strong for 15 y.o. girl. But even such strong girl is still human being. And young people recover fast from such things.

My heart broke for her. But like Madison said this gives her something to fight for next year. If she'd won it all her first time out there's no place left to go but down.

Look forward to seeing her skate with joy again. Love this girl so much!

Alinaaaa! You must have been tired with all the events after Oly. :( But we all know you are strong. I cant blame Eteri for wanting Alina to compete at Worlds but I hope she would help and her and comfort her.

Eteri may not have been holding her in the K&C but I swear I could feel her support for Alina. Daniil as well. Also sometimes if someone is too affectionate towards you in moments like that you can just completely fall apart. Alina was probably trying very hard to keep her composure on camera and I felt like Eteri was help her maintain.

I'm probably projecting and seeing what I want to see but that is what it felt like watching from my perspective.

Poor baby Alina! :( All that stress and tiredness just crashed her. But still it was incredible season. It's amazing to achieve so much at such a young age.
Rise like a phoenix next season and show them who's the best girl here! :)

I got confused when I saw Eteri laughing as Alina came off the ice like she would have been happy that Alina failed..
Also, I noticed that Alina looked so tired during the whole FP as well as in the SP. Not surprising, she har trained the same program thousands of times during these two years. In addition she just came from OG and continued training with the same intensity.
Hope she will recover from this year completely and come back stronger next year. Over-training doesn’t have good consequences in the long run. It just isn’t made to last. The same problem with most russian girls :/

Yes, both Eteri and Daniil were supportive as they should be... they know that it was a long, intense season. I hope that this will not affect her confidence, but make her stronger.
It would have been too good to be true, I mean winning everything and I think unhealthy for her, because a inner balance should be always maintained. And honestly I don't think she was ready for having only victories.
