Alina Zagitova

You do know that that isn't the real Hanyu, but an impersonator, don't you? If you watched the whole video or read about the show, you'd realize that.
I'm pretty sure lusk8 is talking about the real Yuzuru who was in a different video. And we know that it's an impersonator who was on the show.

Alina really does dress very 'age appropriately'. The black dress that she wore to the inauguration belonged to Diana Davis (Eteri's daughter). She either gave it to Alina or loaned it to her for the occasion.

Honestly, Alina is so strikingly pretty that keeping it simple is the right idea. She doesn't need to 'gild the lily'.

Although I kind of hope she got to keep the dress she wore for the cover of the Japanese magazine. That was gorgeous!

Those dresses are similar not same . Probably from same designer

Wow, you are really good at this, analyzing and observing... What else did you notice?

Great dress, simple and effective.... Maybe it's Eteri's...:scratch3:

I can't take any credit. Someone else posted an IG with the pics of Diana and Alina side by side or I never would have noticed it!

I agree with you on the dress - timeless style.

The dress that Dianna is wearing seems to me to be identical to the dress Alina wore to the inauguration. It's entirely possible they each have their own version of that dress. It was an assumption on my part that Alina borrowed it from her, or Diana might have given it to her.

The dress on the right is very similar in style to the dress that Alina wore to World's banquet in Milan and I agree must be from the same designer.

All three are gorgeous dresses!

I don't think that pic is from the World's banquet though... She looks too happy for that time and she has loose curls...

Diana and Alina have been "dress buddies" for quite some time. Maybe they are doing they're own private contest of "who wore it better".

Here is Alina using the pink dress (banquet for GPFinals 2017) https://www.instagram.com/p/BiI_7dajmgx/?tagged=alinazagitova

And Diana wearing the same dress https://www.instagram.com/p/BAaFkM9GY27/?taken-by=di__davis

Diana's picture is earlier, from jan 2016 and the GPFinal thing was early December 2017, so maybe Alina is borrowing dresses from her.

With the low mileage one usually gets out of a party dress (specially if you are in press pictures and being noticed) that would be a smart move.

Alina looks quite happy and excitable at parts. Think not a new video, but anyone can help with what she is saying?

Thanks for translating! As for the last part, i hope she doesn't try to change who she is. She has such a sweet and humble way of talking as well as her appearance and demeanour. You do you, Alina!

- You are moving to senior level, is it complicated?
- Well, technically it’s nothing new for me, the most complicated thing is to set yourself into the right mood. You just do your best and try to show your best skate. My free program is the same, honestly speaking it’s easier for me to skate it than my new short program. There are more difficult elements in it, for ex., the step sequence, it’s really fast and I have to match all the musical accents. So the short program is more complicated. We were training in Novogorsk, at a sports centre where all Russian athletes train. We have been there for 45 days, if I’m not mistaken, then we returned to our skating rink Chrustalny.
- Your Dad is a hockey coach, I think he keeps following your career, does he give you any advice?
- Of course, he helps me because he’s been in the sports for much more time than me. He has much more experience and naturally he shares it with me. This is very helpful.
- This summer you went home, you visited your home rink. How did they meet you there?
- Very warmly. Children were running there and when I came they ran to me yelling: Oh, Alina, Alina and they wanted to hug me. It was during the training, so I said: Hello everyone! Now lets’ train! If you want to skate well you have to go training. And the kids were like: OK, we are going! And they ran away.
- That means since you are training with Eteri you have become more serious?
- Yes, I can say that I have not only improved my skating skills, my jumps but also I have matured a lot psychologically. I spend almost all day long with Eteri Tutberidze so I watch her and I’d like to look and talk so calmly and confidently as she does. And I also like the way we are trained by our team: Dudakov, Gleihengauz.
- And the last question: you spoke about your pet chinchilla during summer. What happened with her? Tell us.
- (laughs) 2 days before the test skates I was watching her in her cage. Usually she runs around it trying to get out of it. But then she just lay there and was looking at me. So I opened the cage and she moved a little bit and I saw a small fluffy animal there. I was in shock that it happened. It turned out we took her already pregnant, so it was a shock and a big joy for me.
- So now you have chinchilla’s kindergarten there.
- Yes, and a cat (laughs).

If YOU had looked at the video that Lusk8 was referring to you'd realize that it was from Misha Ge and not the Japanese TV show with "Fake Hanyu"

Lusk8 is one of the nicest posters here - I think that was uncalled for.

This is her best interview, she talks calmly, does not confuse words, smiles) probably because the interview is taken by a person she knows, Alina is not at all shy :agree:

I loved the part about the pregnant chinchilla. Like finding an extra prize in a box of cereal!

Lusk8 is one of the nicest posters here - I think that was uncalled for.

And that is saying a LOT, because this thread is literally filled with the nicest posters on the entire GS forum! :ghug:

Yeah, I said it! :handw:

Speaking of lusk8's behalf, I thought it was him too, till there was a comment here clarifying it was only a double :o:

You guys make digital life worth living :thank: thank you for the many great interactions and for being so :cool2:

Since EdRoz brought it up and Lesnar001 brilliantly commented it....I bet Zefirsca "gift that keeps on giving" surprise got Alina's Grandma a few extra white hairs. I hope she had another female chinchilla otherwise things are going to get hairy fast. What Alina said was so cute though, and I love how excited she got with this.
