Since EdRoz brought it up and Lesnar001 brilliantly commented it....I bet Zefirsca "gift that keeps on giving" surprise got Alina's Grandma a few extra white hairs. My pleasure. There's enough agressiveness (passive and otherwise) posing as "intellectual discussions" in other places on this forum.

If you want though - look at Yuzuru Hanyu's fanfest pages 436-438 - there are some posts loving Alina's reaction to "Fake Hanyu" :laugh:

Because she went to the exact same place last year, I didn’t know where she was so I looked at the pic she posted last year and saw if it was the same place [emoji23]

Are they really only 161 and 163cm, and Alina 156-161? I’ve never met any so of course I can’t make a real judgement but I am 15yrs and 170cm, I always thought of myself as being average height and my twin sister is 166cm and I always thought she was short [emoji23] and I still probably have about 1-2 years left of growing [emoji31] I always thought it was strange, Alina seems taller than 156? Maybe it’s just by herself cause then when I see her standing next to other people I sort of understand...idk it really doesn’t matter how tall Alina is she’s beautiful the way she is I am just confused [emoji23]

Sorry it was just a reaction I don’t really mean ew, I just don’t think it’s the way to go for her either. It’s not my type of theme for a skating program, but everybody has their own opinions. I think Alina suits stuff like her black swan program [emoji7]

Gahhhhh yes my name is India [emoji849][emoji849][emoji849][emoji849][emoji36] I have no family heritage there whatsoever, I have never been there nor have my parents, they just liked the name. I live in NZ. I get these comments a lot [emoji23] I’m just not a fan of a Bollywood theme program for Alina. Not that she wouldn’t be able to pull it off, she can do anything, but I feel like her full ability is shown in a different style (like her Black Swan and Don Quixote [emoji7][emoji7] they suit her down to the ground

Just the other day was having a family discussion about how I thought average height of people was getting bigger (just from seeing kids classmates and my kids themselves who are quite tall). That is quite a biased assessment of course since I’m working from a very small sample and if what I said was true we would be a planet of giants by now [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

What’s is considered talk depends on where you are and how others close to you stack up to that.

From what o gather, being tall is not a competitive advantage in figure skating, so being more petite would be a plus. Alina is very lean, muscular and has long legs, this makes her look taller than she probably is. Let’s see for this upcoming season if they update her height stats at her ISU profile.

Her Black Swan program is easily an all-time favourite for me :)

Not to mention the dress! Perfection (pun intended)!!!

I hope she doesn’t do a Bollywood theme because it would have to be done EXTREMELY carefully not to come off as offensive or cultural appropriation.

Maybe not a full-on Bollywood theme, maybe something with a middle-eastern flavor to it like "The Feeling Begins". Michelle Kwan and Grishuk and Platov both skated to it. I could see Alina skating to something like that.

Yep, that’s very true. And I think Alina is the perfect height for figure skating. I’m tall and unusually slim and lanky for my height but I wouldn’t be able to control my arms and legs and I wouldn’t have enough muscles if I did elite figure skating [emoji23] think: 170cm tall and 92 pounds = no coordination

it is sad that even local(Tatartstan) media prefer to write about Zhenya than Alina. Alina deserves more than that(being a background). They sholuld focus on Alina and how agreat skater she is. but of course media prefer drama:( i guess last line is the most important:
