Alina Zagitova

nope, she started lose her hearing in early childhood (when they were living in USA if my memory doesn't lie) due to a doctor mistake - wrong antibiotic treatment https://youtu.be/Z2Uv_Ub77GY?t=1335

Wow thank you for that interview. It definitely shows Eteri in a different light, I've never seen her so vulnerable (of course, it's about her daughter so it's a normal reaction). It's quite touching..

Thank you thank you thank you for this interview, I will watch the whole thing. :thank:

It's great to see another side to Eteri, she is a great Mom and I find what she does for her daughter to be amazing. She incentives her independence and doesn't coddle her at all, and she is her only daughter, before I thought that was impressive now that I know she has a disability I'm even more impressed.

Here, during this periscope from Diana, when she and Alina are going into the subway and are chatting with the viewers about it, you can see how she is being raised to be independent and how Eteri herself was raised to be the same way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKN3TtrPt1c

But Eteri is by her nature a very vulnerable person. Why do you think she wants to look so strong, bossy and in control?
In general, persons who try to control everything, as much as possible, are the most fragile ones.

People have a tendency to lower the bar when speaking to public people (like a limbo dance of bad manners). Even though I don't scroll though comments in any picture featuring Alina sometimes its hard to miss the most recent ones (that show right alongside the picture), it is sad that this even happens. But that's online commenting for you, unless you really make people accountable when they have to comment (like have a confirmed ID type of thing, log IPs, not only linked to existing an email) the crowd runs wild.

On a positive note, when Alina does Instagram Live, and she keeps the comments open, I'm always crossing all my fingers and toes for her, but, for some reason, people are always nice. I'm happy for her.

I know. That's why we have Jimmy Fallon's "Celebrites Read Mean Tweets" !!!!

"Limbo Dance of Bad Manners" ---- I love it!!!! :clapper:"HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?"

The race to the bottom never ends.

All the "Twitter Tough Guys" and "Keyboard Warriors" squinting in the dim light of their parents' basement thinking they are "superheros"

Diana wrote in IG to Zhenja fans - My mother did more for Zhenya than for me, my mother cries and she is very sad and I feel bitter to see this every day

For Diana to say that her mother did more for Zhenya than her own daughter is sad. Her pain is real.

If you are allowing comments to your instagram posts it is best to do what Alina apparantly does: never read them. Just read messages from people you are friends with on Instagram. Most comments are just silly things and several are even nasty depending on the "mood of the day". Zhenya always took the "give them a piece of my mind" approach when people were being nasty and she put people in their place, sometimes she even closed the comments for a bit, but Zhenya is super tough and can take it (even with nearly 800.000 followers), if you can't it is best to never engage.

Zhenya has nearly 700 000 followers ;) if you want to be exact

I disagree..

This will bring "Zhenya-Eteri-everybody else" relationship into endless discussion again. And i nearly started to believe I was able to stop it... :bang:

You can see infinity, there is no beginning and there is no end, do not fight, give up

The participation of the Prime Minister in the ceremony of presenting the gift is regarded by the Japanese side as a good opportunity to demonstrate the level of friendly relations. The Akita-Inu Protection Society, which came up with an initiative to give Zagitova a puppy of the breed she liked, criticized such a proposal. "A gift is made by our society. I can not explain it to the participants if it turns out that the Masaru will be given by premiere," said the chairman of the organization Takashi Endo

Why do they think Masaru will be given to Putin? He already has Yume. And didn't they offer him another Akita in 2016 which he (understandably) declined? (How many Akitas does one person need?) This doesn't make sense to me.

If he changed his mind and now suddenly wants another Akita (since all the cool kids are getting them) I'm sure they have an extra Akita puppy somewhere they can bring along.

And if the Akita Protection Society doesn't want to share this occasion with Putin and Abe can they un-invite them? How incredibly awkward! "You can't sit with us!" :slink:

I don't think they're talking about Putin.

My reading of it is that the Akita-Inu Protection Society is upset because Masaru was between Alina and the Society, and now it is being turned into this big geo-political Japanese-Russian event.

At least thats how I see it.

Sigh.

This is why we can't have nice things. :(

I'm hoping that it can be toned down because it should be about Alina and the Society (and of course Masaru)

I don't see a problem with the Japanese PM being there (it would be nice for Alina to meet him) but hopefully he will be "in the background"

As someone pointed out elswhere, the Japanese are fighting over who'll give Alina the puppy, while the Russians are still arguing over who should have gotten the OGM. :D

Diplomacy at its finest!

This keeps the Russians and Japanese from fighting each other.

Maybe the Odate Prefecture (city that was giving the Dog) got a little upset about the PM potentially stealing their thunder. They want to promote the breed worldwide and Masaru has been getting a lot of attention. I was under the impression that, unless they requested him (PM) to be there, he couldn't just say I'm going. Of course, since he is the PM, protocol with his presence would dictate that he takes precedence over them.

For Alina and Masaru this doesn't matter, although having the President of your Country and the PM of the country of the people giving you a dog present at said dog gifting ceremony is quite a status boost. How many people can say they had two heads of state present at the event they got a dog. If it happens that way it'll be just Alina. Even Olympic medals are presented without heads of state present for the events. To her this is an all options I win situation.

For the sake of the very nice people of Odate who are looking forward to this event and had the idea in the first place, I wish they get their moment in the sun and are able to put their message across.

I see another major press conference in Masaru's future.

Masaru is a star. She will need her own agent soon. She can have her personal assistant schedule play-dates with Yume!

I don't see the downside for Odate of the PM attending. It will just bring more attention to Masaru's Russian debut and Akitas as a breed. I hope everyone involved is happy with the outcome.

Honestly, I am very excited for this! I can't wait to see Alina finally get to have her dream come true! She and Masaru are going to completely upstage both heads of state and anyone else who happens to be there. :luv17:
