Alina Zagitova

Short video, with english subs, of one of Alina's Izhevsk interviews.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVvVe-LfoGI

- She talks about Masaru and why she didn't bring her
- They ask about Iriska and Zefirka (not by name)

Edited to add: link to TASS (Russian news agency) clip of Alina's visit to Izhevsk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sNlsR0aMRw (some nice little bits from her Masterclass, all the kids running at her when she arrived outside the rink)

In fact not exactly: Panenkova can come from the word "panienka" in Polish, which means "young lady" (in past: every unmarried lady; can be also translated as "virgin", but only for the Virgin Mary). The word is used only for ladies, the word for "virgin male" is "prawiczek" ;)

I'm talking about etymology; "pan" is the common root.

I still can't find full video of Sabina's performance on the masterclass ((

I've seen one, Teamzagitova's instagram account live of the masterclass captured 36 minutes of the class, including Sabina's performance (around 15min into it), the actual bit with the performance had a lot of glare from the spotlight that was aimed at her so you couldn't really see a lot of details (I think she did two 2A, could kinda tell because of the forward take off), she did one illusion spin, she did another jump that I could tell (maybe a flip?) but I couldn't tell the rotations on that one.

Edited to add:

- She did more than one illusion spin (probably as many as 3, doing single ones in 3 different times),
- Really, really hard to tell, but I think I counted 6 jumps, no combos, I could clearly see some doubles but couldn't tell if there were any triples
- She really moved all over the ice rink

New Masaru pic in Alina's insta story:love::love:

Plenty of Masaru-pictures and videos. I'm sure they are having a great time together :love:

That park is so gorgeous. Perfect place to walk Masaru. I am looking at her tiny apartment with new eyes! If it's close to the park (which it appears to be) and a 10 minute walk from Sambo-70, it's going to be hard to beat that location. Never having to deal with traffic and public transportation unless you have to is its own reward.

I really agree on this. Maybe Alina is searching for her dream house in the same area, it's really a convenient one. And the park is beautiful [emoji173]

Unfortunately, there are no private houses in this district .. they are farther away and will have to spend a lot of time on the road, the traffic in Moscow is terrible

I would be out there with Masaru all day on my day off. The apartment would just be a place to eat, sleep, and get dressed.

I realize that it's easy to say this in the spring and summer. During the winter and when it's raining is a very different story. But for now I bet Masaru already knows the Russian word for park and it's her favorite place!

That is not good news :( Hopefully, they can just find a bigger apartment in the same area when Masaru gets bigger.

Alina already has to spend so much time training, working out, and going to school that the thought of commuting and having to rely on public transportation sounds tiring. And walking back and forth to Sambo-70 twice a day is going to provide Masaru with 4 much needed walks a day.

I'm sure they will figure it out. Everything else seems to have worked out in it's own time for the best so this probably will too.

As you can see on this map, its a perfect place , the red star on map - Khrustalny ice rink ( Хрустальный) , and her park and lakes is not far away .. yes , you're right, she just need a bigger apartment in this area

P.S. One more - metro station is very close

How does Alina find time to study for biology, Russian, maths, geography? I can hardly make it at university without having to deal with a puppy, 2 new skating programs, tons of fans (and fanatics), puberty, figure skating drama with teammate and public events and commercials almost every single day... I don't know how she does it, for these 3 months she has done so much, I have the feeling she gets calls everyday for new and new events.

Masaru is really cute... I am not a dog person but even I think she is adorable and lovable and I am happy that Alina has a new friend!

And by the way, I understand a bit Russian and when I read comments on Instagram pictures of Alina, I see almost everywhere at least one comment about her new shape of the eyebrows and I wanted to ask you what do you guys think, does the change bother you? She definitely looks more grown up with this change and she is still very beautiful but I kinda understand those people who complain, her face was very natural looking and somehow pure. And the eyebrows definitely change the vision of a person, it's difficult to explain it but sometimes a small change leads to a whole new appearance.

The eyebrows are a bit dramatic for me. I prefer the natural look. But I am not a fan of 'make-up' culture as a whole. Convincing young girls that they 'need' lip kits and power brows to be beautiful is all about putting money in someone's pocket. And I hate the 'not enough' message that it sends. But I also get the point that it is a way of expressing yourself and being creative. I respect that.

I've seen different reactions on her brows varying from place to place - Message boards and comment sections:
"Noooooooo........" :reye::dumb::drama:

Twitter comments - "I love her eyebrows!" "She inspired me to get mine done!"

IMO it's just different age demographics.

That said - Alina was preparing to go on television and perform center ice in Izhvesk. I understand why she went for that look. I also think the 'raise the age minimum' debate has something to do with her making an effort to appear more mature. And the fact that she is 16 now.

I think what she did to her eyebrows is microblading, if I’m right it looks stronger once it’s done than it gradually fades.

It’s quite popular right now and I have work colleagues that did it, it looks like that for a few days than gets progressively lighter.

I really liked it, she kept the shape of her brows, it photographed beautifully. It’s nice to experiment and she loves make up and beauty things. Girly girl indeed.

1) compare https://ya.cc/3XHxz

2) the shape changed not much but with sharp edges and some retouch they look too unnaturally

3) they attract more attention, but she didn't need to do so

4) it's not creative, it's blind adherence to fashion after a lot of reading&seeing of beauty bloggers

5) I don't like this new design :(

6) eyebrows on my avatar are the most perfect eyebrows in the Universe

Agreed. Her unnaturally thick eyebrow, the super straight hair kill her charm. I prefer the more natural Russian girl look.

I really hope that the new fame is not getting to her such that she feels like she needs to change herself or have a certain look. I miss the little hamster! But I guess we all do mature and grow up at some point, and as girls will be girls, always experimenting with various styles and trends.

I think lusk8 might be right about the microblading and fading. I have a friend who just did it and it looked very dark, unnatural and jarring at the start but it got more natural after a week. Let's see how it goes. Hope the photos/videos keep coming for us to keep tabs! Just a week away and I have missed so much! - New hair! New brows! New apartment! Masterclass! Masaru! and my favourite of the lot, Masaru vs Iriska!
