Alina Zagitova

Sorry for the long post....

Exactly how flanker has said, you are really a life saviour. We should call you SuperLusk8
And I totally agree with you..in many of the new photos Alinka looks exactly the same as she did before, so it's probably just a camera/angle problem

Fun fact about music choice: I was bored and rewatched Alina's Olympic SP but decided to play another music over the video. I chose Max Richter's re-composition of Vivaldi's Summer (Trusova's music from her last FS) and oh my :) It matched so well, not only with her movements but with her dramatic expression! She's made for big frantic music especially when her programs are full of (very well executed) transitions, it's near to perfection! :coffee:

i agree with this esteticlove! i feel like Alina is made for dramatic programs. I don't see her doing the princess-like (Marin is good at), or emotional programs (others like Zhenya or Yulia are known for and good at). But maybe she could actually pull that off and surprise me but personally i think Alina is made for dramatic and intense programs. Her black swan was fantastic, i don't care what anyone else says. I'd die if she did something fierce like Mao's Bells of Moscow.

While we wait for July 28th to unleash, hopefully, lots of new videos and pictures of Alina in Japan. Come on "The Ice" I'm counting on you.

Zhenya, Aljona and maybe others, went together to Taiikukai TV (aka the Game on Show in Japan where Alina, Wakaba, Javier and Kaetlyn performed). And they made Zhenya do the one foot slalom thing, I'm looking forward to seeing others do it ever since I saw Alina. It will be interesting and I bet she did super well too.

let's be honest, it is no longer subject to discussion who has better skating skills :)

Aaah, I love these videos! Shows like this one are always so cool to watch because no one‘s competing and instead just having fun!! And Alinka is obviously fabulous at this parcour, doing it like she was born for it. ;) It looks ridiculously hard, though, I‘d probably fall all over the place😂😂

When did Zhenya try it, though? Was it at DOI since Aljona‘s there? Because I believe only Alina was at that Japanese game show or am I wrong? And I‘d love to see Zhenya give it a serious try, too, without the jacket. :)

I just don't understand why they nearly everytime choose Alina's first ride, where she hit the second to last peg, not the second where she made it clean.

I think Zhenya tried it because, when she was in Japan for Dreams on Ice, she (and at least Aljona) got invited to take part in that Game Show and the peeps on the game show probably proposed it as one on the challenges.

I’d like to see how the new participants did, specially at that one foot slalom if more people did it. Alina did it really well.

Probably because her reaction is so adorable. She‘s like: „You‘re not being serious, are you?! This DAMN last peg!! I‘ll try it again and I‘m gonna nail it this time!!“ Personally, I love this video because it’s so her. Determined, ambitious Alina. And yeah, I know it‘s not actually the last one but as good as. :)

For this instance it was a fan made edit (so fans picked that clip of Alina when they stitched all the clips together), I’m not sure if on the actual TV airing of the show they’ll show Alina’s bit.

I am interested how others will do at this. Alina did it so quickly and smoothly. Remember the video where the guys were trying a similar setup with bottles? Only Misha Ge did it really well. IMO it is REALLY difficult to do. I think that Alina's body control is first rate (air positions on jumps, centering on spins, and the final series of spins in her DQ program as examples) and it really showed in this challenge.

If I had to guess, I think Aliona Savchenko would do great at this challenge. She has unbelievable body control.

Off on a tangent.... I think Alina would have done very well at "figures" if she had trained and skated in that era. IIRC body control (both upper and lower) was essential to being successful at being precise in figures. Well, that is my opinion on the subject.

Her reaction was priceless with the little foot stomp.

By "they" I thought anyone who makes any compilation using shots from that show, I should have been more specific :)

I’m with you, I admire Alina’s body control and believe that if figures were still a thing she would do super well on them.

Alina has a great consistency when she performs a move, we saw two instances of this on the TV Game Show, spins and slalom. She did it from start to finish with the same form and rhythm. That is quite impressive to me.

And I love that foot stomp moment, the great tell of a true competitor who cherishes winning and performing to her best abilities.
