She does look disappointed but honestly, who wouldn't? She sounds better than I expected. She said that they were going to talk it over with the trainers now, she did better in the short but the short is easier. Let's wait for the full interview!

She looks crestfallen. I cant watch her fs video. I didnt watch her world fs for months.
 
I am a bit worried about her words :(. She says that is was hard to jump at the begining of the season.
 
I think there is no reason to panic. I can't deny it, I was shocked and heartbroken, too when I saw her fall like this but it's not like this is unprecedented with Alina. She has a record of peaking later in the season, she needs time to adjust to programs and usually isn't perfect in her first few outings. And now she's dealing with puberty and this enormous pressure, too, so it's quite understandable. Last season she didn't have very good GP events but managed to win them anyway. But by the time Europeans and Olympics arrived, she was perfect. Worlds was a bit of an exception since there were the Olympics before and the pressure and media attention and everything. But this time there are no Olympic Games so if she skates at Worlds like she did at the OG, she will be fine. I believe in her. I can understand that she's disappointed but it's early in the season, she shouldn't be so hard on herself. I just hope Eteri is supporting her sufficiently so that she can gradually improve over the season and slay when it's really important. It's just test skates. She'll be fine. :)

I'm slightly puzzled by "we haven't thought about the costume yet" comment. Her first competition is in 2 weeks, how's that possible? or she just didn't want to talk about it?

I don't think it's that bad. She is disappointed, who wouldn't and we know Alina's competitive personality. But she definitely isn't ruined. As we know her, just now she probably analyzes what was wrong and what could be done better. Also, when there is disappointment, we can be sure that she was able to skate it clean and she believes she is fully capable to do so. So disappointment could be read this way: "I know I'm good and I can do much better, I've done it already. Now I will work on weak spots and next time I will do much better.":)
 
I really really like Carmen. Dramatic and intense, and suits Zagitova's strengths. It's a very difficult program due to the speed and musical nuances, but once she gets the technicals in order this program can be a dynamite.

Is the 3T suposed to be after the flip? That would make a lot of sense, and I love that they changed the layout so much.

Today was a hard day for every skater, I think it has a lot to do with the nervous energy I was referencing.

Today I watched a livestream of the event from 17hs onwards, waiting for Alina, so I could see more about the event in general. Audience was wonderful, very cheerful, supportive, but the mood on the Ice was tense for some reason. I could sense that from group warm ups. My take on it anyway.

Yesterday on her warm up, when (it think it was Konstantinova) someone nearly collided with her I thought WOW the mood is fierce. I know actual collisions do happen and are not indicative of tension but for some reason when I see people nearly bumping into each other on the ice at warm ups I associate this with a high competitive vibe.

The tension somewhat dispelled yesterday but today I felt it linger on the air. Alina was super calm yesterday, super focused, today I felt her less comfortable. Not with the program but with the tension, as a consequence her striking ability to exude calmness (present yesterday) was lacking today. Probably a factor in her performance.

She has all her jumps on pointe, regardless of the fact that some misfired today. Proof of this is that she nailed that crazy difficult entry into the 2A. As her form improves with the season she’ll get even better.

On the program itself, not judging layout because I don’t feel this outing is conductive of that, I’m super pleased with the unusual music cuts. Not last year’s Carmen for sure but a really fresh one, she’ll own this one like the champ that she is.

Ironically this new layout is harder than her previous one because she has to perform the last three difficult jumps on tired legs already. The DQ backloading wasn't that hard in comparison because the StSQ was relatively slow and she performed all three combos at first.

Her Plan B this season is hard too because if the 3Lz-3Lo at the beginning doesn't work out she has to push all combos to the bonus half and add the 3T to the last Flip.
