Oh my, I can not decide, there are too many beautiful photos with Alinka :biggrin:

Someone who is more experience technically... Do you think Alina's step sequence from test skate SP is level 4? Since it's difficult to get level 4 this season based on the judging that we have saw so far.

Also I have the feeling that her jumps are a little bigger now, but definitely not so secure as last season. Actually her lutz from some angles looks quite big, same with flip. Not big in the level of Tsurskay, Chen, Tuktik but above the average.

Her flexibility also looks better but the spins generally not at the level of last season. It's early though.
 
I have just rewatched Alina's Don quixote olympic rehearsal. Seeing her arms without the long gloves she usually wear as a costume, you can see how she moves her arms delicately! It was so lovely 😍😍 that is why, I just could not comprehend how others say Alina has no artistry??? Like her PCS were soooo inflated? Like are you guys blind?

WOW what a great idea!!! TeamZagitova is the best fan club ever, I can still remember all the banners and flags they've done for test skates with Madoka Alina. That was beyond cool.

Wish I new how to make anything with photoshop but as it is I'm completely graphically challenged, can't draw an egg.

I'm holding on to the thought that she will get level 4 for her step sequence. Bradie got it at Autumn Classic and those judges were the hardest of them all (so far), they dinged nearly everyone for spins and falls cost -5 across the board (first time I've seen this). I expect the finished version of Alina's step sequence to be harder than Bradie's, no one puts Team Tutberitize in the corner when points are on the table.

Spins also gave everyone all kinds of grief at Autumn Classic, some people got docked "V"s (in the FP, in the short program the rules call for spins docked V to be deemed no value, Yuzuru got hit with this at Autumn Classic), levels were down. In this case they apparently changed something in the rules for spins one of them being "a change of foot in any spin must be preceded and followed by a spin position with at least three revolutions". The sit side spin must now include a difficult variation in movement (with head, arms, legs) to be counted.

As you can see, the rules just became a barrel of fun...

Let's see how Alina does in Germany, that's the great thing about doing a CS, you get a chance to get judging results that you and your team can then look at to see problem spots to fix before the GP starts. Also, more mileage on the all important FS for Alina since she did POTO way more times.

I am not a technical expert, but what I know is that Eteri would never give Alinka a SS that would not qualify for level 4. So now everything will depend on her execution. I am very happy I am not the only one, I noticed her higher jumps, too, even from the japanese Ice Shows. They look big, and they look beautiful, ofc they are aiming for maximum GOE, so it's clear they have worked in that area, I just hope Alinka will be able to be consistent in landing them.:luv17:

Thank you so much for this link, Alinka seemed so confident performing almost all of her jumping passes with a smile on her face. That's how I hope we will see her this entire season, she is a champion and greatness suits her the best. :thumbsup:

Yes totally agree, If anybody can walk in the rules river, its deffinitelly Eteri. She is albe to make the most possible from the rules. So I cannot imagine she give Alina SS which is not lever 4.
 
But Eteri‘s uber-juniors all got level 3 this season, too. I doubt they‘d do that intentionally. So I guess they choreographed each program with level 4 in mind like last year‘s but judges are just more harsh now. We‘ll just have to see what happens to Alina but it doesn‘t matter much anyway. They‘ll certainly make adjustments if they don‘t hit level 4 on the first try.
