I also noticed that one of Bradie's double axels in her LP has a similar take off, except she has a little hop during the turn, so I assume she must be putting her other skate on the ice a little bit during the turn.

I haven't noticed any of the other ladies using this entrance. I hope the judges reward them handsomely.

Hi, like others have pointed out one of her entrances (riding backwards on one foot and then flipping the same foot forward in a little "v" taking off from it) is called a back counter. Yuzuru uses it for his 3A and some other girls used it in the past (besides Alina, Mai, Wakaba and Kaori come to mind).

So you come back on one edge, flip it around to front and glide out on the other edge...

Super complex and looks great too.

ETA: Tatjana Flade is on her way to Nebelhorn Trophy, so we'll probably receive many "goodies" from all the events, including the starting order draw from tomorrow :pray:

What makes me angry is that ladies SP start at the same time as junior ladies SP in Ostrava. And I won't see the stream from Germany, it's right in time I'll move from work. I hope at least Alëna will sakte in some of the last groups so I could see her in livestream. On the other hand, when I arrive home, Alina will be finished with her SP already, so I won't be nervous when I will watch it.

Same here, I hope both Alinka and Alena will skate in the last groups, so I won't be at work while they are skating. (Probably I'll hide somewhere in the locker room to watch them, but we are having an inspection too so I think it's going to be quite tricky :laugh: If they will notice what I'm doing I'm going to invite them to watch Alinka's program and I'm sure they will be mesmerized :laugh:) I also hope they won't skate exactly at the same time so we will be able to watch them both. These days are going to be quite busy for us :scratch2:

They are like 6 hours ahead of me in time, I'll wait and see what's Alina's starting position to plan my run for cover at work. Will only be watching this competition so I'll only need to shuffle one event, but I would like to watch several girls in the ladies line up, time to get creative and invest on great noise cancelling headphones.
 
I'm just gonna tell myself that a fall or two is okay, so that I don't have a near heart attack when she does a SLIGHT step out :)

I know at my heart that she is going to be clean. (if not now later. hopefully now. well whatever...)
 
lol that feeling when by looking at the comments on sports.ru everybody is cheering for Alina so hard :laugh:
and you guys are really weak, Alina will slay as always! there is no doubt! i have quite a good feeling before the skate
 
Speaking of being weak though. Do you guys ever notice how when you get nervous watching a skater perform is when you start to really care for them and sincerely root for them? Like I remember nonchalantly watching Alina at the Cup of China last year, thinking wow she's pretty good. And now I have to calm myself through elaborate rituals before daring to turn on that TV. (Maybe I just have an unusually feeble mind ;) )

I'm beginning to feel this way about Eteri's junior girls, too. Especially when Sasha did her short program a couple of weeks. But the thrill is also why I always come back to figure skating, I guess. No risk No reward. I love this sport :)

Guys, let's play a drinking game. Every time she lands a jump we take a drink.

I expect us to be very drunk by mid afternoon (her time), late morning (my time).
