Sorry if this has been asked before, but why doesn't Alina put her combo in the second half? We know that she's capable of it.

Probably the risk it's not worth it. Also if she has some problems at the first combo and jumps only 3Lz, she can add the 3Lo after her last 3F, so she'll have a back-up plan (unlike juniors, who are not allowed to do this and must jump single 3F)

I quess its more safe way as she was a little bit strugled with the jumps because of her body changes. If she will be more safe in it they can change it ..but its only my opinion.

Alina was amazing!!! And super nervous as we can see at the end when she let out a big sigh of relief. Clean skate!! Huge score!!

I caved in and watched it live. So happy she skated clean. [emoji1323]

My stream was not the clearest, but I thought she looked a little tense and distraught as she came out of the rink. Was she? Whyy?

Glad to see Eteri all smiley and cuddly in K&C.

It is such relief. And such satisfaction. It's remarkable that with her burden, with her title, expectations, even with all that begrudging people, with all the media mess Alina was able to deliver this program. She really has the chance to defend all her recognition and titles. Yes, not perfect yet, bud remarkable by any measures. and the season just started. Alina

detailed results! seems like a fall in any jump automatically means -5 GOE across the board. step sequence was a level 4, with 4s and 5s on the GOE so she did that really well (saw some compliments about it too from others!) positive GOE on anything, with one not very friendly judge who graded low in general

Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to risk it all in my opinion. Right now, if she messes the combo up, she could still add it later. And that's worth more than backloading the combo would be in additional base value(0.55 points), which is rarely if ever going to be the difference between winning and losing.

Let them talk, or tweet, as the case may be. Their opinions are meaningless and powerless. The scores have been recorded and their salty words will change nothing.

Alina just had a good start to her post Olympic competitive season while coping with incredible pressure. And after a dealing with a travel mix-up that had to be at least a little stressful. I am so proud of her.

The haters can stay mad.

I'm still teared up....and I watched it twice already.

Great for her on the nerves front because you could tell at the start she was nervous but she was able to reel it in and deliver. When she started moving you could see the difference from "The Ice" when she wasn't nervous. But she was great and looked so amazing. Like a dream really. And I'm not a fan of white dresses but she can make me a fan of anything.

Eteri, Sergey and Daniil you are the wizard of points....the great "level 3 step sequence" plague of 2018 passed miles off our girl.

I see your weird POTO music cuts and raise you an even weirder Romeo and Juliet music cut....Junhwan Cha's (Daniil are you cutting music for Borser Team )....and the judges don't care....both programs are 1st on their CS Competitions' scores. All that matters to judges is the delivery and the content.

Go Alina rock that POTO cut. I have to admit I don't mind it anymore.

The back up plan is probably the reason why the combo is not in the second half. Since there is only one bonus jump in the short program it is not worth the risk.

She will backload 3Lz-3Lo in the free though according to the practice videos.

boilerplate complaints - they just cut and paste from last year.
they're all p***ed because she didn't "choke".

I watched 3-3 in slo-mo did not look UR to me.
Just because they "wish" it - doesn't make it so.

Alina is a beautiful girl, the reigning Olympic champion and she has just set the bar very high with her sp score. Beautiful & succesful always causes hate and envy.

I want her to be clean and win by a huge margin going to GP. There's something to be said about psychological warfare in figure skating.

it's okay if her fs isn't perfect yet tomorrow! i just pray that it is not a disaster! if she can keep her calm and deliver a perfect performance tho, that's even better.
