Alina Zagitova

Thanks a lot! I should be able to watch that live, luckily. Best of luck to our Alina. :ghug:

Alina said she was nervous and honestly it wasn't showing on her skating. She was so into her performance :luv17:
I love how supportive Daniil is. I wish he was with Alena today tho, she seemed to need one of his bear hugs :(

I just love Daniil‘s interaction with all the girls. And this video with the kitten is just precious. :luv17: When Alena was crying so hard after her skates, I really wished Daniil to be there to comfort her. He‘s really a great member of the team and because of his support for all the skaters I can even forgive him some of his questionable music cuts!

TAT - er, I mean winter - is coming

Yes. This. Both are coming. With unknown degrees of severity. And I can almost guarantee that at some point I will hate both. I will probably ***** about both. Right here in this very thread!

But winter is figure skating time! Why do you all dislike winter? :( And especially that you dare to compare it to TAT... nyet! Winter has snow and snowmen and cookies and Christmas and evenings with a book and a blanket on the couch next to the fireplace... what does TAT have in comparison? Winter > TAT!

winter sucks! i'm anemic and winter is the worst time of the year for me. I freeze to death as soon as temperatures get to 10degrees! i can't even add ice to my drinks. I love figure skating but i hate ice :laugh2:

Oh, okay, then I can see why winter sucks for you.

So, I‘m not the only one who loves figure skating but can‘t skate? But at least you have reason, I don‘t, other than that I’m a clumsy mess and always broke various bones when I tried figure skating. After the second sprained ankle my teacher nicely recommended me to look for a different sport. :laugh2:

I guess that‘s why I have such admiration for what these skaters do... because I failed so spectacularly at trying even the basics of the basics.

All those things are the best parts of winter! Winter is definitely > than TAT! :agree:

Lol, Canada Judge gave Goe +2/3 to all 2A exept Alina, this not being strict, it is insane. shame on him. She had most difficult entry on 2A in this competition and this season. Judge 4 need to get call from ISU

This is actually a slightly terrifying idea. Eteri telling it like it is with no filter. I'm scared.

I'd actually look forward to Eteri commentating. She has a colorful way of speaking and I suspect a great sense of humor. She always makes her skaters laugh before they go out.

All real things Eteri has said or done:

"7.5 spins? You need 8. If you can't count, do 8.5"

"This coat makes me look like a homeless child."

"Someone take that plushy toy away from her, it's covering up the Rostelecom logo on her Team Russia jacket!"

We had the talk about it several months ago, you are not. #Metoo

Ohh just try it, its fun. Definitelly you must try it guys :) Its not a long time since I was thinking everybody can skate at least a bit because we skate in PE in school sice a first year of school and I always saw it in films. :D But then last year I was in France with Erasmus and we was in ice ring with a big group of students from many states and I realize that it definitelly its not general knowledge, people was surprice that we can skate, many of them was staying on the ice with skates for the first time .. (must admit that it ruin my naive world a little bit :D). But even the guys cannot skate they were enjoying it and saying its not the last time they skate :) + must add that I was feeling pretty cool because it was in the rink in which Papadakis & Ciceron start theis career as a kids (their home rink) :D

No need to pick on judges and other skaters there are plenty such comments on youtube and internet if someone gets satisfaction from them feel free to go read them.

On the actual skating, I'm more convinced now that she increased the coverage and height on her lutz and flip. I don't know if it comes from training or her natural growth, most likely both. Anyway, this is something promising, she can improve more.

Spins were good, small travel on the illusion one, but overall quite good for so early. I think she has been slightly delayed with the musical accent on the flip, compared to show (this one comes to my mind) and that lost a bit of the WoW factor.

Step sequence: I like it, goes well with the music, she covers the entire rink (length) with some serpentine moves at some points. Maybe a little bit more width coverage will be good as well. Speed relatively good throught out.

Presentation wise she was nervous, I think you can sense it. With time and more practice she will overcome it.
