Alina Zagitova

i agree with you, i think its great she's trying new things this year. i do think she will grow more accustomed to playing new characters as the year goes on, the music cuts were just really distracting and didn't go together. seemed very choppy and unorganized to me.

At the end of the day, no matter how we may feel about the music cuts, the judges liked it.

I forgot about the eyebrows.

Only in the world of FS fandom could eyebrows cause controversy.

People lost their entire minds. :disapp:

On multiple internet sites in multiple languages. People were more upset about her eyebrows than her 5th place finish at Worlds. Let's all remember where we were during the Great Eyebrow Crisis of 2018. It was a dramatic 4 days! :hopelessness:

Here is the Judges' PDF.

Her component marks and GOE's are THROUGH THE ROOF!

(I hope Lusk snuck a peak during a bathroom break. That was a killer performance )

All level 4's for spins and step sequences.

A couple of people on twitter complaining the "Eteri Girls get high PCS"

Did they ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe, that "busy" choreography might be what the judges are looking for?

Alex Jones on line 1....
"Nah, can't be that, Eteri must be paying off the judges" :palmf:

From the moment Alina entered the ice today, her look and smile assured me everything is going to be ok and she is going to rule this. Like a true Olympic Champion

I am happy to see that she received better components marks, indeed she performed more relaxed today and everything ran smoothly towards her win :agree:

Lusk8 my friend, I really hope you saw this because it was spectacular :luv17:

That Canadian judge probably got scolded yesterday after the SP, because today she was not as stingy with points as yesterday 😂 She suddenly gave Alina and the other girls higher PCs and GOEs.

Eteri is such a beast when it comes to strategy. Switching the order of 3Lz-3T & 3Lz-3Lo makes so much sense now. Because obviously the 3Lz-3T is very easy for Alina, it boosts her confidence and she is rightfully showered with massive GOE. With the 3Lz-3Lo at the beginning, the rest of the program can easily fall apart when she misses this element. And let's assume the 3Lz-3Lo gets a carrot < in the second half, it won't hurt her as much because she has the bonus cushion on that combo. Smart.

Even the 3A girls this season cannot pass Alina when she skates clean.

Maybe she is New and was thinking that the marks are like in school ..lowel is better 😂😂 ..just kidding 🙂 i’M glad for girls she give them better marks today

I'll still be nervous for Alina whenever she competes, but WOW she really showed me something today.

When she is at her best (or even somewhere in the ballpark) - well, words can't describe it for me.
I may have been more excited today than when she won the Olympics.

And we have seen her train 3F-3Lo so she can add this combo if the Lutz landing is shaky or she falls. If she has 3Lz-3Lo in front and it doesn't work out she would need to do 3Lz-3Lo instead of 3Lz-3T and add the 3T to the 3F or do the 3Lz-3T as planned but add the Loop onto the flip. Sounds a lot more complicated. 3Lz-3T seems very easy for her so like you said, she probably won't miss it too much. Really, as much as I dislike Eteri sometimes... nobody beats her and her team in terms of strategy.

I don't normally look at the detailed scores, so I have a question.

I thought Alina had all level 4's

But I see "ChSq1" - what is that?

It seems that all of the skaters have that.

Thanks.

Figure Skating has developped. When people complain about "positions not held long enough" and "busy" it simply means that Alina has choreography and transitions – what the judges are looking for and reward. Sometimes when I go back to old Michelle Kwan programs I understand what some posters here intend. But honestly from today's perspective I don't see anything special in Kwan's programs apart from the theatralic face, long set-ups for jumps, crossovers and two-foot skating. If you had designed that kind of program for Alina, with elegant gliding and holding positions, she would not have become Olympic champion in 2018.

I know that eteri will move heaven and earth just to make alina unbeatable this season,if she goes clean like this no one will touch her.

Choreo Sequence, I think ? No idea why there's a 1 there, though.

There are no different levels on the Choreo Seqeuence because there are no requirements a skater has to fullfill. So it is automatically ChSq1 and GOE make the difference only.
