Alina Zagitova

I don‘t know what world you are living in... Skaters are all from different countries so they choose one language to communicate with each other - English. Russian isn‘t even the most common spoken language, it‘s only on 8th place worldwide. I think you are trolling.

Alina can do what she wants to do, none of us have a say in that. It was just a suggestion.

Don’t feed a troll ;)

Saw this on twitter :laugh2::rofl:
"The seats in this arena are quite far from the ice & a lot of innocent bystanders are taking a pounding. Camera operators, press, judges, volunteers, all lost beneath a tide of stuffed animals for Alina, failing to reach the ice. This is the best sport ever."

This made my entire day! :)

The mystery of Alina's PCS has been solved - the judges were terrified after being bombarded with stuffed animals!

She popped jumps at test skates... I agree, it‘s unusual to see, Eteri skaters normally don‘t pop jumps, they rotate them fully but fall.

it's always a different case with +3lo combo. In this case. The landing become an entry and timing has to be absolutely perfect. When the landing or an entry into +3lo isn't 100% perfect it could become 3+1lo. You can see it from warm-ups and practices from skaters who are doing this combo.

Lesnar001, let me telling you something: I have a feeling (with my super super powers) that the two of us will be the best friends by the end of this season. The same with Finley.
I already enjoy exchange opinions with you and I feel the same from your part, guys!:luv17:

This is highly unlikely as I only see your posts when someone quotes them in a reply. You have the honor of being the only poster on GS or any other online forum that I have placed on an ignore list. Which actually defeats the entire purpose of interacting on a forum but since you and I have very different ideas about how to enjoy participating in this fan thread it's for the best. There you are and there you shall stay.

That was my whole impression with it. No time to compensate or adjust anything.
Personally, I think the combo should have a much higher BV than the 3Lz-3T

It seems a lot harder than just the BV between a 3T and a 3Lo

That was why I wondered if going forward during the season they might change to 3Lz-3T in the SP.

I understand all the reasons for keeping it (it is usually very reliable, it is her signature jump, etc...)

But losing over 10 points for a "pop", and then not being able to make it up later since you haven't done a solo triple yet is a big hit to take on the SP score.

It is different in the LP, because at least if it is missed, another 3-3 can be attempted later.
Also - I don't think a single jump on the combo is an invalid element in the LP (?) - if not there wouldn't be the hit to the GOE.

You don't even know what you lose :cool:
Finley, you are a too good person for me. Are you a guy? I wanna marry you if so:luv17::rofl:
And I hope someone will quote this comment, because I want you to see it.... especially if you're a guy.
P.S. Flanker should be happy cause now it's not only Eteri and him :yahoo:
GS works miracles :)).

-3lo combos are incredibly tricky indeed. I have lots of respect for skaters who can do them especially those who are consistent.

This loop pop is becoming a habit of hers - she's never done it before this season and has this season a couple times. I hope she can figure out how to go for the jump and fall which still gets you more points, or save it for another jump. Eteri's skaters seem to be very good about this, and Alina was too in past competitions. Perhaps it's just due to her growing that she needs a little more time to sort out her rhythm. But also, I noticed the lutz was much higher in her combo than normal, and maybe she couldn't control the landing as well, or that it just put her off of the rhythm of the jump so she didn't expect the loop entry. Either way, she can make it up in the free.

It's so nice of Loena and not very nice of journalists who kept pressing the matter and asked to explain why Loena thought that! I also like Alina's reaction when Tatjana translated it to her - her shy smile and gratitude to Loena for saying that

Yea definitelly it was quite impolite to ask such a question. Ask her if she think she can win is one think, but push her to say why she think the cannot win especially when OGM is more than 5 point ahead of her after short and they can she she is embarrassed a little and strugling with the answer. Come on.

To english topics: I think no one said Alina have to leard english, but it's just good for her. She can interract with skaters, with fans. It must be tough for her to be on shows when the skaters speak in english between each other and she had to be with some russian guys to know what they are talking about. Also in galas she sometime seems to be alone. And it's sad, she is such a kind girl. And yea other skaters can learn Russian but they dont need it, they speak english like a majority so they are fine. But she already said she wanna hire tutor and with more time spend between skaters it become better :) it's the best for language be in that environment, and she dont need a grammar for now, she just need to be able to interact, so it will be good, I believe it.

Indeed the journalists today were a little pushy and some questions made the girls feel somehow uncomfortable..I loved Alina's answer when they asked her about how much she grew since the Olympics and she was like.."Why is everyone so interested in my height? Growing is a normal process for everyone, I am fine, don't worry" (anyway she confirmed those 5-6 cm that we were talking about, so her perfect physical shape is so impressive even after these growth spurts)

disagree. I still remember comments here from the last season. When there were so much whining about 3lz3lo combo in SP...
Don't forget this combo in SP helped her to win Olympic Gold.
sorry, I don't get and don't like these whining comments after a single mistake on a really hard combo. And we all saw from the practice videos that she's technically good and ready to do it cleanly.

Yes and it has been during the programs themselves.
I don't think she missed a 3Lz-3Lo during the entire practice.

Maybe someone knows for sure, but I always thought a "pop" was pretty much like an involuntary reflex.

It just seems strange that she had no problems at all in the practices.

I hit the panic button too early.

It is just the huge loss of SP points that concerns me with a jump that is worth little more than the 3Lz-3T.

You are right - because with the ultimate scores between Gold and Silver, this combo certainly could have been the difference.

TheBallerina - I didn't recognize you at first. Very beautiful new avatar.

It is indeed too early to worry. As we've seen she managed to score 68 with a popped combo, which is really good. Serious competition is not until the GPF where she might have to go against Medvedeva (incredibly consistent when she's on) Tuktik & Kihira (3As). She has until GPF to get more confident and we know what she can do when she's confident :agree: It's really just fine for her first GP event to not be perfect. She looks really good in practice so we know at least it's not something else.
