Alina Zagitova

What did she score on her short program?

What happened did she fall?

I'm not sure if we are allowed to comment on the exact scores until the competition is over but she's in the lead. She didn't fall, what happened was a popped 2nd part of her 3Lz-3Lo combination, so it basically was a 3Lz-1Lo. The single loop was therefore invalid and she received negative GOEs, she practically left 10-11 points on the table. I wouldn't make a big deal out of it - as Alina herself has mentioned on her interview - she got distracted and was kind of tense. The B.ESP commentator was right that it was rather a mental thing and not a technical issue, since her combos in practice and in the warm-up were very solid.

Ed, try to keep up. Madison is a girl. I am a girl. I don't think either of us is gay but since same sex marriage is now legal that hardly matters (as long as she is obscenely wealthy). Ballerina will be wearing a red tutu and acting as flower girl at the ceremony. Fluture will be playing POTO. You will be officiating. Flanker is on clean up duty as he is to blame for all this.

Alina is at this very moment deleting GS from her favorites.

PS. I think Lesnar is getting us a condominium on Mars as wedding gift?

OK, but I stipulate only 8 working hours a day with half hour break in the middle, every overtime will do double salary, no work after 8 p.m. and before 8 a. m., the health insurance and full board. These are my conditions. Will you accept? ;)

Olympics channel's interview with Alina, a few quotes below and full link at the bottom of the post:

"I don’t want to look for any excuses for my mistakes, I try not to get distracted by any circumstances. I think if you’re an experienced skater, you need to learn how to get used to anything that could happen."

"Honestly it’s not so important for me. My score, my first place, doesn’t really matter when I don’t skate clean. I always want to do my job on the ice as best as I can. I wasn’t able to do that today, so I’m not pleased with myself."

Alina is our own little Buddha, wise and very focused. I wish I had half, even 1/8, of her determination and focus when I was her age.

I wish that tomorrow she can truly leave the ice happy. Go and be amazing like you are Alina!!

Thanks.

I googled the scores and Alinka leads by 5.13 points.

I like her no-nonsense take on things.

I wish I had 1/8 of her determination and focus at my current age.

Ask madison. She's paying for this.

You can also start working on the pre-nup. Key point to remember - I get everything.

Trying to keep this somewhere near the topic - I feel Eteri would approve of this.

Viktor Kudriavtsev about Alina's mistake:

"it was an accident"
and
"She has shown fine execution of the triple 3Lz, but hastened in shoulders' movement on the Lo. Her shoulders went out to the left and she couldn't push off the ice properly."

(I guess, it's due the over-motivation)

I think she will come back tomorrow and be clean. It may not be the most passionate performance because she will be focused.

Congrats to Alina for overcoming the pop like she did! She skated so well after it. I heart went out to her seeing her so sad. Loved seeing Eteri consoling her. And I was glad to see Daniil there. I am confident she will perform an amazing Carmengitova tomorrow! :hap10:

Thank you.

Valuable information.

It is great to have his techincal observations about what went right and wrong with the combo.

I will. But I might have other condition. I may kiss the bride(s)

This is it. Do everything you could and finish second is more satisfying for Alina then finishing first with the knowing she could do much better. That's a true sportsmanship.

Hello dear Alina fans!

Hello, dear bewitched! I am so happy for you and it's an amazing thing that one of us is attending this event. :yahoo:

Thank you for sharing with us all these little details from Alina's rituals, warm-up and so on...it's great to hear the opinion of someone who's there, watching the competition live.

I wish you a great time in Helsinki, and to enjoy every second of this amazing experience, especially Alina's amazing performances. :luv17:
