Alina Zagitova

Yup, they are doing another piece on Alina!!!! Hope we get to see it soon, looks so cool, maybe an update on how Masaru's doing.

“everyone asks first about how Masaru is doing, and then about me. And sometimes they don't even ask about how I'm doing.”

Don't worry Alina, Masaru is just the excuse, you are always the reason!!!

Alina and friends are back in the dance studio.

I don't think this has been pointed out yet, so: Alina got 9.04 and 9.14 in composition at Helsinki. Let me say again, Daniil is vindicated.

I am awaiting the day when the three of you post here at the same time. I think 3 Masarus in a row wins the "progressive" jackpot at any casino!!!!
You are now The Three Musketeers from the Masaru Order, "All for one and one for all".
Masaru power! :yahoo:
Whoof! :cool14:

:2thumbs:
The First Masaru Triumvirate is here and ready to conquer. We have puppy eyes AND sharp teeth. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I'm watiing for the Masaru avatar Full House here at the thread (even as I'm breaking it's chance of happening by posting now )

Her Transitions mark is her biggest (consistent) point of gain in the PCS department, for the others she's being rewarded accordingly (by that I mean over 9 as the final mean score). She's been over 9 in Transitions at Nebelhorn, and, of course, also at Japan Open.

She got 5 above 9 scores on this (Transitions) on her SP and 4 on her FS at GP Finland.

I want to see her go above 9 in all the PCS elements, and she's done it in two competitions this season, so it is a solid goal for the year.

That historical moment when she backs into Satoko :laugh2:

At GP Finland the skaters were all over the place with the "unwritten protocol" of the winners' Gala (winners in singles bundled together, followed by pairs and then Ice dance, silver medalists around each other), it was funny. Specially because Yuzuru is like the expert in podium (and winners at a Gala) protocols, he even flipped Brezina and Junhwan when they were on the wrong left and right side of him as they were posing after the medal ceremony victory lap.

I guess everyone was just so happy here, Yuzuru was extra happy you can tell just by looking at him, they let it all go.

And Alina was, at GP Finland, so focused on getting to jump that combo again that you can see this was on her mind the whole time up until she did it. You can see her thinking "how am I gonna squeeze this in" , "can I got for it now already ", she was constantly skating backwards (in short bursts) as she kept thinking about the right time to go for it.

Yuzuru is always so kind to other skaters, I love him even more fot that than for his skating skills. :)

And yea she definitelly wanna prove to everybody that her combo is her combo and she can do it well .. I love how she always wanna show the best no matter what. She can win but she is not happy until she show what she could and make fans and coaches and everybody happy, only after all people are happy, Alina can be happy too. That's what champions do!

I remember that ) Stepanova said something to her, but Alinka was “offline” looking for moment to repeat a jump

Well, when you mention it, in our ultimate film fairytale Three Wishes for Cinderella, Cinderella has some treasures hidden from her stepmother in an old barn guided by an owl :)
So, owl is a guard to all house equipment, books, boots and all, from the teeth of dire Masaru

Maybe you’re meant Tři oříšky pro Popelku???
It was my favorite movie then I was a child, thanks to Barrandov studios

Very interesting overview of Alina's PCS marks, many thanks lusk8 :thank:

I totally agree that Alina getting marks well above 9 in PCS is an achievable goal for her, it's very easy for some "FS fans" to criticise her even without watching her performances. The fact that you like or not like a program is something subjective and will not matter for the PCS that judges offer; they will look into:

-SS, which Alina already proved she has, just watch her obstacle course on the japanese show, she skates with power and flow over the ice

-Transitions, her strongest component, all her transitions are insanely difficult and she should be waaaay above other skaters, imo it should be a 1-2 points difference at least between her and other skaters (I'm not taking here into account our super 3A juniors, but her international competitors from this year)

-Performance, just look at my avatar; Alina improved a lot in this department, she looks so involved in every movement that she performs, the tempo varies according to her music and she has a unique style for every program, perfectly suited to its theme

-Choreo - the truth is, Alina's program is building in such a way that every single PCS criteria will be met: every step, movement is motivated by the music, the patterns are diverse and original. Yes, some people don't like it, but it doesn't mean that it is not true.

-Interpretation - Alina has the ability to create, through movements, a translation of the music and also to use the tempo of the music (I just remember her SP, in the final part, where the music becomes suddenly more intense, and her skating is too, culminating with that gorgeous 3F).

Sorry for my longer post but I always wanted to comment on the PCS discussion, I don't find it fair at all that she gets so criticised when in fact she improved so much. Yes, there is still room for improvement, it always is, but she is skating on a very high level and deserves to be rewarded accordingly.

Alina made a fan out of a Hanyu fan here is the quote: "Seeing the skaters in real life was so amazing! Besides Yuzu, I saw reigning OGM Alina Zagitova who skated beautifully and even managed to get an autograph from her!"

And here is the girl's instagram post about GP Helsinki (no pictures of Alina) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bp4eZYGDilr/

Tell me about it. Just a short visit of the comments on youtube after such competition as was in Helsinki is the way how to start to "not like" some people very quickly.
