Alina Zagitova

Dear friends,

Do you remember my friend makes something special for GS this Christmas?

It's ready! He has made something like a trailer for the fight for senior spots at the Russian Nationals this year. I think the video excellently captions the physical and mental strength of all these wonderful ladies. And a small tip - keep attention to the lyrics!

I am getting excited for the Nationals just by watching it...

So, I hope you will enjoy it!

Oh what a great Christmas gift for us all!!!

Thank your friend for this wonderful video, loved the way the lyrics matched up to the judges images (that was fun). It is a super strong and emotional music, amazing edit.

:thank:

Alina Zagitova is a “athlete of the year 2018 “ according to the Russian Ministry of Sport

My message to your friend: :clapper::clapper::clapper::clapper::clapper::clapper:

It's a perfect work, and I don't know if it was intentional but sometimes the Leto's lyrics fit the footage in so interresting way, like "the evil" or "the liar" - one of the judges waves the crowd  Then, "the honest" - cute little girl in the audience :luv17:, and "to the leader" - Eteri/Daniil team shows up :laugh2:

Once again, congrats and thanks for the video.

I hope she does. I really do.

Until I saw this, I didn't think it was possible because her 2A is not that high.
But her vault into the jump here looked really strong.
I don't know how it translates to the floor to the ice.
And, of course, having it part of a program.
And... landing it consistently.

I don't care if she telegraphs the jump for 10 seconds at the beginning of her program.
Alina with a triple axel would be the coolest thing ever.

It's incredible how many tricks Alina has up her sleeve.

I guess what we actually see in competition and on EX is a mix between consistent execution and positive risk/reward ratio.

Her coach team is super smart and knows her well.

What she is showing us is the amazing wealth of talent she has to work with, she can do so much more, it is fantastic.

The height on that off ice jump, her perfect body position (she has the most beautiful air position out there and the best rippons) and her rotations are jaw dropping. She is a gifted technician, and also an artist, can't wait to see what she'll do next.

Alina makes me quote the animation movie Kubo "if you must blink do it now".

Beautifully done.

Was that the "low" judge from Nebelhorn????

Seeing all these skaters - it really will be a powerhouse competition.

It was the same with me. But now we see that for Alina only sky is the limit as long as she remains determined not to stay behind in tech difficulty. Just some more experience and Alina lvl 3A/4 stsq/4 spins will save Neverwinter again

No, Ms. Beth CRANE CAN was the SP technical controller at Rostelecom.

Ms. Nicole LEBLANC RICHARD is the Nebelhorn judge you're talking about. :dev2:
(I do not forget )

bewitched, that was a wonderful video your friend put together! :clapper: Thank your friend for giving us this awesome Christmas gift, and thank you for converting your friend to being figure skating fan.

With me, ya seen one judge, ya seen 'em all.
They all look cranky to me.

To me they are people who can't do a triple judging people who do 3-3s: "Nah, that was UR, look at that landing, my Mom could do it better".

When they have the medal ceremonies and they say "And now the head judge and the Technical Controller will congratulate the medalists" I keep hoping one of the skaters would say "So you called my 3-3 under, right? Let's talk about that unclear 3F edge for a second here?"

Yes, a lot of them are volunteers. Ms. Nicole Leblanc-Richard, for example, listed on her ISU bio that she has an engineering background. I don't know how she got into figure skating, much less became part of it enough to be a judge at the Olympics (yes, she was in Pyeongchang too :))

But some of the judges are former skaters, though not top figure skaters. I think very few top figure skaters become judges.

I'm not a troll , and this is a great moment for Alina , but I don't really understand the people around Alina

Renat Laishev, boss of Sambo 70 in the end of speech he said — And special thanks to EM

:dev2: whaaat ??? Why?..

I'm just glad they sent this guy to pick up Alina's award.

If it were Bestie, Alina would never see that award....

It would be displayed in the shrine to EM that Bestie has in her living room.

I think at SA, Scott Davis (former US champ) was a technical caller.
And I recall in the past seeing Alexi Urmanov listed as a technical caller.
