Hey guys, some on-the-ground reporting for you and to give you an idea of the fan sentiment at the arena.

Rika had a remarkable skate; it was very well-done. Alina also had a beautiful, clean skate. She is second but first is not unattainable. Her fans (and there are many here at the arena) still have faith!

I'll try to post some of my grainy pics when I'm at a computer.

Wow. Some strong language. I guess he, of all people, knows how media could mess/distort things. Not sure, though, that his words would calm down the storm, but rather fuel it. Good that he tries to defend the athletes, anyway.

I dragged myself out of bed and hauled it to UBC to watch practice this morning.

Since it's just practice, I sat anywhere that I could get a closer look.

Alina looks strong and well-rested. She had a pretty clean free skate, but I feel she looked better when others were doing their skate and not all eyes were on her.

A side note, Liza missed her practice with music, not sure how usual that is.

There's a good amount of time between now and the real deal. Hopefully she'll get to relax and recharge.

I was at the practice and I think she looks strong and better rested than she was before.
