Alina Zagitova

Do like me....I completely left it this time around.

Still great to go to the first place and get links for stuff but I'm not going to reason with crazy talk.

A tower of "Blabble".

Some of it is reminiscent of Leslie Jones' inane tweets during the Olympics.

I'm too tired and lazy to check....

The contest within the contest....

Did Alina get all level 4's in the SP and LP????

Yes. She's a good skater and I love her attitude; even on such a short preparation time she still performs. And yeah, she has the third highest score this season (even though I do question her world record scores).

Thank you for answering about the level 4's.

I don't know why you are questioning her WR scores in her fan forum though.

You're right, probably not the right place.

On another note, why DID she jump the 1T in her free skate? Her 3Lz was always in combination, so she could have afforded to keep it as a solo 3Lz and then tack on a combination anywhere else, like her 2A or 3S. By jumping the 1T, she maxed out the number of combinations she had.

Whole post.....and this....

And I want to see Lusk8 go all "Ronda Rousey" on whoever left the loose cable that Alina tripped over.
Hey pal - you just P***ed off the most positive person at GS. See 'ya - I wouldn't want to be 'ya!!!!

They just wait for me....I'm marching my way in Ronda Judo style, first I'll high kick the stadium door, then I'll jump into the arena and say "Alllllllllllllright, who let TV Cables loose all over the area Alina had to walk on, don't you know there are Olympic Gold legs you're having the privilege to see here, I'm still waiting.....who allowed this to happen."

On another positive note: she is listed for the gala, I hope they did get her thoroughly checked out to make sure it isn't a super serious injury, because if she broke something or tore something I don't think she should skate the Gala (even if she doesn't jump). I'm as excited as can be to see her skate her awesome Gala program here but not at the expense of the long game.

Alinka —

I can't go to the ice tomorrow and make a triple axel, right?
And the quad can not do, and jump higher than I could.
So, I just need to skate the way I can...

Our girl is just perfect!!

Alina is wise beyond her years and works so hard to get to be the best that she can be, there are no limits to what she can and will achieve.

She surely is! And number 1 on ISU world standings...this shows who's the most consistent skater of the past two seasons [emoji173]

It is very easy for some people to say, why is she not jumping quads? Why is she not jumping 3A. A man can do what a man can do. And Alina is going through such a difficult time, having to deal with both growth and a huge pressure on her shoulders, that I am amazed by how well she maintained her jumps, and even made her program more difficult.

She is a true champion and a fighter, after an exhausting olympic season still being on top and fighting to win every competition. And she can be a strong contender for as long as she wants, because she has literally everything and her mental is becoming stronger and stronger. All this experience that she gained, no one can take away, and will help her for the next seasons. [emoji173]

Part of me wonders how seriously her injury could even be...if she really tripped over a cable and fell. What could be injured? Let's have a think.

If she hit her head, well she didn't seem concussed or disoriented, so we can rule out head injuries.
If she landed awkwardly on an or on her body, we'd likely see her hold back on some movements (unless painkillers).
If she twisted her ankle, well she's still jumping 3Lz-3Lo, so that's not likely.

In conclusion: I can't think of what could be seriously hurt. I doubt we have much to worry about.

Well.....I hope you are right and you really might be, I'd lean towards the thought that it was more of an ankle twist (and her ankle was protected by her skates), she didn't have any visible bruises on her upper body so I'm staying positive.

But we never can know: Zhenya skated with a broken bone on her foot and Yuzuru skated with torn ligaments at both the Olympics and at Rostelecom Cup more recently. First one did 3-3s and the second one did quads. They'll give you pain killers and pain numbers and you will go on, riding on the strength of less or no pain and your mental will to perform. Eventually it catches up to you though and you are forced to deal with the injury if said injury is severe.

The Gala will be telling for me, but at this point (after the FS and festivities of last night) I hope they have MRI-ed her feet to make sure she has no fractures (or cracks) and no torn ligaments, so they can proceed with recovery accordingly if needed.

If it was more of an added mental rattle (like the one Eunsoo experienced with an on Ice collision at NHK) then she obviously shook it off just fine by the time the competition ended.

I am very impressed Alina skated after injuring herself. I wonder which foot it is, because when I saw her coming out of that first 3Lz, I thought for sure she was going to fall. Very impressed she didn't. It was a bit of an awkward landing which makes me think her right foot is the one she injured, if that is true I give huge congrats for her pulling off that -3Lo on an injured foot. This clearly wasn't her best performance technically, but I thought she was really selling it during the step sequence at the end. I really enjoyed watching her perform it.

Second is not bad, she is not over because on this day with these particular judges Rika was better. I think Alina is a very gracious competitor and she and Rika seem nice with each other. I am also almost positive that if she had not popped that combination, she would have won the gold. I do hope that this takes a bit of the pressure off her shoulders because she is still definitely Russia's #1 lady. I will bet on her winning gold at nationals and Euros. I believe in her.

Side note: In the photo where Alina is taking a picture, is that Eteri in the background talking to Rika? I can hardly see without my contacts

What a great post. Agreed.

But she wont have an undefeated season now. :(

I hope her injury is minor.

I hope she wins worlds and completes her career resume at sweet 16. Buit will be hard because while she skating well she's not quite at the Olympic level she was and she keeps popping combinations in the long program. Rika is the main competition for Alina zagitova this season pressure on Rika to win the World Championship at home over the Olympic champion will be huge. That could play to play to Alnas advanage.

Nationals should be very interesting and exciting. The drama will be major.

Now that we are waiting for the Gala I have the big question of this GPFinal:

Why nobody got a watch?

Come on Citizen, if Seiko could do it at the GP Stages you can do it at the Final.
