Alina Zagitova

Am I imagining it or is she skating with more speed than earlier in the season? I saw her live at GPF and did not think she was particularly fast, but in the SP and on the practice video it really looks like she’s getting better ice coverage. I feel like they are trying to get more distance on the jumps so going into them faster, which caused some of the mistakes in practice today.

no i think she looks way faster as well. before when she was slower i'd always be nervous about whether or not she'd pop a jump but i didn't get that feeling at all with her sp this time. even when alina did make mistakes on the jumps it didn't take away from the program since she went into them with confidence

i think she's really improving well, it looks like she's using less upper body rotation to get those jumps around compared to last season. people always complain about alina's "bad technique" but if you compare her olympics programs vs her SP at euros you can see that she's twisting her body way less now for her jumps. her spins have also gotten nicer. i'll admit it doesn't look as effortless anymore but thats just because the consistency isn't there. her technique has really improved so idk why people keep acting like her technique's gotten worse lol.
 
Wow guys I am so nervous and anxious for Alina today! Honestly I’m glad I won’t be able to watch it live because I have class. At Russian Nats I could feel my heart beating though my chest during her performance :drama:
 
How much longer until the ladies fs????? It’s 9:30 eastern time here in Michigan. How much longer do I have to wait??? I can’t wait any longer!!!

Happy to see that there was a small medal ceremony. Alina won her first gold medal go girl :cheer:

Looks like Eteri was yelling at Alina during practice yesterday. I hope she rested well because her trainings are always exhausted.
 
Guys I'm so nervous, I really want to see her smile after the performances. And I read everywhere on twitter as Eteri leave the practice early in anger and Alina was crying. I don't think it's totally true but it make me feel sad. And yea I know sometime when she strugle in training she has amazing skate after. So I'm praying for her to see her shine.

Well Alina is her only senior and there’s no really threat in this competition and I think she was upset with the short programme. Sofia even beat her in technic, I know it was not her best performance but I noticed if she has a clean short she messes in the free and the same in Finland, she messed the short but had a decent free.
She had a decent short two days ago I hope for a decent free today she can do it.

When was that? Practice today? Or yesterday? I thought some in here'd watched the whole practice video and reported nothing of that? I think it's not a secret that I'm not a fan of Eteri but during competitions she always stayed with her skaters no matter what. You have to give credit for that, she even went to the GP with Alina shortly after her mother died. I think it might be a rumor, or at least exaggerated. I hope Alina is fine but she had a clean run-through. I am confident that she'll do it.
