Alina Zagitova

I dont understand how a young girl as Alina says that she doesnt have friends (if I understood correctly form her latest interview).
She seems to have a friendly nature (although maybe shy with new people), but still...

She said — I can say that I have almost no friends,
not — I can say I have no friends at all.

almost — it means few ??? Diana Davis for example

Yes and I’m glad she does. I would think it’s easier to have a best friend outside your discipline - for example Alina and Diana or Alena and Daria Pavlyuchenko

I'd imagine it's hard to develop more than superficial friendships with the kind of intense training regiment, plus the mental focus you have to keep up as one of the top athletes of your field. There's usually not much time and not much energy left to foster close relationships. The only peers you see every day are your training mates who are also your rivals, which kind of complecates things, and in Alina's case currently all of her female rinkmates are younger than her and also still in juniors, meaning that there're a lot of experiences they don't share. I'm sure there're enough peers she has a good relationship with, but probably not super close bff style just because there's no time for that.

To be more precise she said "I (we) can say, that practically I don't have friends, so I spend my free time with family"

But as Omar Khayyam says in one of his poems:

"To wisely live your life, you don't need to know much
Just remember two main rules for the beginning:
You better starve, than eat whatever
And better be alone, than with whoever."

Btw, Alina and Puma is kind of really fitting, isn't it? She has something very catlike to her.

These last two days have been full of gifts for us.

First Alina in the Japan TV show and now her Puma Campaign launch.

Through all this Alina continues to be humble, sweet, kind and hard working. With normal dreams for a young girl her age and lofty goals for her career, I’m excited for her, she deserves it all and the best part is, as she gets recognition she remains the same friendly, family oriented, focused, fair competitor girl she has been since day one.

As she achieves more dreams, new ones will come up to inspire her, we are all truly lucky to have her. She makes Figure Skating better and she proves that a lot can change in your life yet your values can remain the same.

Go Alina!!

She really does! She definitely fits right in with Puma's other 'faces' - Selena Gomez & Adriana Lima both have a similar look to Alina.

Alina should not hurry, buying a good new apartment in Moscow is a big investment for such a young girl

I think she mentioned some time ago about saving money lately for her own place in Moscow. Moscow real-estate is def not cheap, and the prices are mainly only going up.

That would be amazing! Imagine the photos! Maybe Alina can do an exhibition skate to a Selena Gomez song someday, haha. I'm not really a big fan of Selena Gomez, I much prefer her namesake's music, but if it's Alina's dream, I hope it comes true for her!

Hahaha Selena (Quintanilla) is QUEEN!

It would be really cool to see Alina and Selena Gomez together! that way Alina would become more popular or well known among non-fs fans hehe

Greetings from Mexico!

Alina said that she does not like clapping during her programs. Maybe fans should take note for future competitions

Well, she did not put it like that. Journalist said that they received a lot of requests from fans to ask Alina does she actually minds when they clap along during her skate, so Alina responded that it could be a bit distractive at the beginning and can cause her to miss a music accent in her choreo.
