Alina Zagitova

E. Tchaikovsky: “There is a victory, and sometimes there is a triumphal victory. Zagitova won triumphantly today, I don’t remember such victories for a long time. It was an absolute win, it was talented. She understood herself and the program so much that she skated off unusually. ”Https://www.championat.com/other/ne...a-zagitova-oderzhala-triumfalnuju-pobedu.html

Brought this over from FSO. This was truly a triumphant victory!

Alinka deserves a big , very big ice cream today )))

And all those slabs of chocolate that were stitched inside owlina, poohlina, doglina, polarina and other colossal beasts, which those famous surgeons Sergey and Daniil had been excising, can now been delivered to Alina, Masaru and Iriska.

What a wonderful tribute from Tchaikovskaya :thank:

I haven't really seen it mentioned much that they LITERALLY CHANGED THE RULES TO TAKE AWAY HER ADVANTAGE SO SHE WOULDN'T WIN.

STILL won.

:2thumbs:

Dear friends, I want to thank you, all of you!
It's not only Alinochka, who made me happy, but all of you.
When I am at this fanfest, I am at ease, I fell warm and happy. Because all people, who post there, be it guest or regular, are so kind, tenderhearted and supportive! We all know, it was a very difficult year. Not for Alina only, but for us, her fans, as well. And here was the place I could find a peace.
I really don't know, if I be able to thank you enough, but THANK YOU anyway. :thank: :thank: :thank:
I cried a little, when I was writing it. :o:

I'm crying too.

I really believe that Alina has brought out the best in us.
She is a truly special person.

I'm so happy for her.
This season has been a journey and a half for her to say the least.
But she arrived safely at her destination, and is all the much stronger for it.

Spasibo, Alina Zagitova. :thank:

Hmmmm I wonder if Eteri changed something in Alina’s training. I know Japan is a good place for her but She seemed more relaxed and less exhausted than the europeans.

Didn't she say she is not doing runthroughs everyday? And she spent time doing her commercials off the ice... maybe it was the more relaxed approach that helped her.

All great athletes (and coaches) know how to adapt.

I just want to say too, that I am "over the moon" ecstatic about the podium.

Last season, who would have even expected Lil'Bet on the World's podium - AND be the first senior lady to land a quad????
This season - we all saw the struggles and growing pains of the Olympic Gold and Silver Medalists.
So many saw (or wanted to see) this as a sign they were all "finished"

Well, living well is the best revenge, so I'd say Alina and Evgenia are certainly "living well" right now.

Hmmmm.... and math rules be damned: In this case 4 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 13!!!!

And congratulations to 2 phenominal coaches
Eteri and Brian Orser.
They have been charged with truly special athletes ---- and they did a great job in cultivating the greatness in all three of them.

Yea she said something like that. Also it seems to me from their formulations that they provide her also extra emotional support. :)

This time she can’t held back because of Zhenia. Did you notice ? She jumped on the podium like the olympics and this time there was the national anthem.
Yup Alina can eat all the sushis she wants, she deserves it and Eteri will treat her :clapper:

:con3: Please, Eteri, may I have a glass of water now?

I think Alina's stunning performance just completely befuddled and dazed one of the British Eurosport commentators. After she finished, he said, referring to the crowd, "suddenly the Japanese flags become American flags...(long pause)...become Russian flags." And then goes on to say, "she was unbelievable, after all she's been through, beaten in the Europeans, beaten in the Olympics, beaten in...(pause)...Vancouver in the Grand Prix Final." Stop right there, Señor, our girl was NOT beaten in the Olympics! Haha, I forgive him though, because both he and the other commentator said very good things about Alina.

Ha-ha, was there mad clicking keyboard sounds during those dramatic pauses?

I think her team always planned for her to 'peak' at the right time. She looked absolutely phenomenal at this competition. Her skating, her body, everything!

Still can't get over the fact that she is the first Russian Lady to win all the gold in the world and the youngest to do it ever!
She is now a legend as a Ed said earlier. Only Witt, Yuna and Zagitova!
