She literally had knee illness that hurt when she did anything physical, and she still trained every day professionally ofc she was exhausted given it didn’t give any good results. i had same thing in high school, was a good runner but for like a year I couldn’t run at all coz of sudden sharp pain in my knees it went away on its own but i had to stop training...but also Japan is really great, people are very nice and calm and love figure skating im sure Alina felt better coz of that...also no loud fans

Japanese TV showing the reaction moment Alina won, and her cute run through the maze of backstage corridors. Alina running on skates in solid ground is better then most people walking on them.

I'm watching the ladies free skate on NBC right now. It's still exciting even knowing the outcome.
Still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that Alina is only the 5th lady in history to ever win a World Championship after becoming an Olympic Champion. She wanted to remembered and she will. Her name can be said in the same sentence with the legends Yuna Kim, Katarina Witt, Sonja Henie, and Herma Szabo. What an accomplishment!

In a congratulatory note published on the Kremlin website, the Russian president spoke of his pride and admiration at the teenager's performance, which wowed crowds in Japan.
"You won beautifully, technically, and confidently," Putin wrote. "Millions of fans and spectators were won over by your brilliant skill.
"Such achievements contribute greatly to the sporting glory of our country. Great job!"

Alina I said thank you very much so she speaks English!
Really the little changes last offseason really bothered me because they were aimed at a Alina and stopping her back loading dominant programs. But she has adjysted through this season and it was very up and down with some down moments that she did not have last year until worlds when she was exhausted and burnt out. Alina has survived and thrived. Thank God. I'm happy for her for being world champion and winning all the major events as a senior and Junior. I'm also a little relieved the season's over.

Guys, I've been so emotional ever since Alina set her feet on the ice today that I could hardly make it through till the end of the day. I've read all the posts you've left and couldn't agree more with the opinion that this is a fantastic Fan Fest and you, we, the fans make it a stronghold for Alina and her fans. I believe in the supernatural and I'm sure that the fans' enormous amount of positive and supportive energy helped Alina to execute a superb performance (both in her SP and FS). Her strength, courage and fighting spirit is extremely inspirational. It's just incredible how this not yet 17-year-old young girl can move so many people regardless of age, sex, nationality etc. etc. There's obviously something magical and positively contagious about her, which can bring very different people together. Her coaches and everybody on the Team Tutberidze deserve a giant THANK YOU and infinite gratitude for raising, training and giving us such beautifully talented athletes, who are wonderful human beings as well. This is the time of rejoice (and ice cream and sushi),and I really, really hope that Alina won't finish her competitive career and we'll have the chance to root (and "die") for her in the upcoming season(s). And now, I'm gonna open a bottle of some quality Russian champagne and drink to the triumphant victory of our Queen of Ice. Cheers!

I'm quite certain they are. They said that would do her make up in the major competitions. And WC is the biggest event of the season, wich also take place in Japan.
Alina looks like a star on the red carpet.
She looks so much more mature now. Not a girl, but... I don't know how to say it in english... maiden, perhaps. I mean, If you compare how she look now to the summer photos even.

At the May 23rd "Zagitova" was #2 in the Google trends in Japan. The 1 place took Koshien that happens right now (it's a big baseball event between high scool teams, something like March Madness in the US, and the baseball is the most popular sport in Japan).

I think Alina will appeal to girls and young women from all over the world, from any culture or background, because she is kind and humble. She lets her expressions, emotions, skating routines and results speak for her in the universal language that every human understands.
She would be a great sports ambassador once she retires from competitive skating.
I was so curious to whom she is running. If she is running to hug coaches or congratulate to Lilber or sth else. But it's not theere!!!

Alina seems a little confused when Zhenya embraces her. I may have the wrong idea, but it's not as spontaneous as before. There is still animosity between Eteri and Zhenya and Alina is in the middle.
In any case, there is still a good camaraderie.
