Alina Zagitova

I think it might have been closer to 5 am based on the time they posted? I could be wrong?

I think you’re in the right ballpark (1:30 am was estimated flight arrival time), but I think they posted the pictures once they got back home.

I read a comment on one of Alina's vk fan pages they were waiting at the airport from 1 am until 5 am for Alina's plane.

No words. Just mad respect!

There were many proposals about what Alina could (or should :) ) choose for her programs for the next season, some ideas were given even by me. And here is another one :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zg5QMysuSYg

Part of the Interstellar soundtrack was used by Akhanteva/Kolesov in their SP during the last season and I think it was fitting well and this track would fit Alina and Daniil's style. Also the title "No Time for Causion" is pretty exact

I would like something like this too! I liked Bradie's SP music and get up and while I've no idea if something like this would suit Alina or not, I hope they play around with this type of music a bit during the off season.

Some very nice words (via google translate) from another World Champion who did not give up! -

World champion in figure skating Maria Butyrskaya believes that Alina Zagitova is not worth early to complete a career.

“Alina is unique in itself, because she is the only one who, after winning the Olympics, was able to continue her career and win the world championship. This achievement in any case will remain in history. In addition, a good indicator is that she did not leave halfway. Zagitova has an amazing character, she is a fighter by nature. I would not have finished in her place.

Remember the German figure skater Katharine Witt , who won gold at the Olympics in Sarajevo and Calgary. You should always look forward, strive for the title of a multiple champion. It seems to me that Alina loves to speak, loves when the stands are supported by her, ”said Butyrskaya.

^^
The last sentence is more like: "I think Alina loves to perform, loves when the spectators are supporting her"

I think that those who make suggestions about Alina's retirement completely underestimate the strength of Alina's will, which she proved this season. That's something what you show not by "winning everything" but contrary by winning after struggles. There was a huge pressure of expectations, from fans, who were looking for another victories, and from those who were waiting for her smallest falter to make a story about a star who extinguished under her burden. Then there were health conditions, growth of her body, wounds. Alina said she really considered retirement sometimes during the season. Yes, there must have been moments of complete desperation for her. But no, even if she had such moments, even if she sometimes went on strike during training, her strong will and her honesty made her not to surrender, not to submit to all those "good advices". Alina prevailed in a way that would be amazing for a grown man, while she is shy 16 y. o. girl. Strong mind is often more than muscles.

And all this is experience, huge life and sport experience. Alina has shown she is able to skate and win under a huge pressure. That's why I would never write her off. As I've said, do not underestimate Alina's strong will.

Of course she would have full right to retire now, but as long as she stays healthy or doesn't have any other strong reason, I absolutely doubt she would do that right now.

I think it would be a good social pychological PR move to just put out an announcement on instagram saying basically "I've achieved all I need but wish to keep going. It's inevitable that I'll be beat sometimes but that's ok. I plan to keep going while I'm able to win Grand Prix medals or until I feel fulfilled and there's someone good enough to replace me."

A statement like this would preempt dumb comments that may come her way that could hurt her psychologically in the future... and it sends a message to her fans and sponsors that sets expectations which will make it more likely they'll stick with her while she's still competitive.

But Alina has said this. Many times, in many different ways. The ones who didn't listen her then still won't listen to her if she says it again :drama:

They're also the ones complain all the time about longevity and then constantly call for Alina's retirement, so I think it is safe to ignore them :)
