Alina Zagitova

This is so cute! Masaru dressed in the iconic red tutu, being like..humans leave me alone. it's time for a nap

And I gotta confess...red is my favourite colour, and the one that I think suits Alina the most. A stellar appearance :luv17:

Alexz and Orlov, thanks a lot for your translations!:thank: Your work is extremely appreciated! They manage to underline once again, the huge importance of the World title, the struggles, the difficulties which led, finally, to the biggest title of the season.

Though I used "panic attacks", because this is how it sounded per Daniil's words. Panic attacks is not an illness, it is just what it is - suddenly getting too nervous for no reason. Symantecs. There shoul be no missunderstandigs unless they really try. :)
A panic attack is kind of different thing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panic_attack.
There's always a reason. Once I end up in a hospital after a panic attack. And what you described as "suddenly getting too nervous for no reason." sound more like anxiety.
And tbh it's not what Daniil said. "He just talked about how Alina was getting more nervous and self-doubting the closer it was to WC. Which then affected her training and so further sent her into the self-doubting spiral."

Ok then, we wong use "panick attacks". We will use anxiety.

Btw, someone needs to translate this interview very precisely. Because some weird people are already running wild with Anna’s story about 2 shrimps. Anna just doesnt like shrimps and was too polite to refuse it.

I don’t know why people say Alina should train 3A or quad. She won the world title without it and the same goes for Alena Kostornaya in GPF.
Plus, she owns a 238 without any quad or 3A. I think it’s quite enough to medal, she doesn’t need to win each time. I prefer to see her healthy with lower marks instead of seeing her risking injuries. When I see Sasha falling each time she attends a quad I say to myself gosh is that girl ok ?

Nobody (well, except arbitrary ) says that Alina needs to learn 3A (or any other new jump) at all cost, not even her team is forcing her to do anything like that. It depends only on Alina herself, as on any other skater and his/her ambitions. Do I want to win or do I want justg to participate? Those two things can come together of course, but if someone wants to win, than he makes what he considers necessary to get the high ground.

All the time there were examples when somebody won even if his victory wasn't estimated and hisskills were behind the oithers (we all remember Steven Bradbury ), but if you want higher chance, than you can't count only on others mistakes. And again, I'm not saying how high Alina's ambitions go, but I know her as a very competitive. I don't think she would go into some danger for her health but if she would think she can learn 3A or quad without in being too dangerous, I bet she will try.

Yeah, I’m confused about this. It would be great to have a full interview.

I am happy for Alina's gold, didn't have the time to write here... i just read your posts and her interviews and I was relieved. She had so much pressure on her, I didn't like that... I don't know how she will be the next year emotionally... but I want her to stay in the mix like Liza, I want to see her growing. I have the feeling that she will get better and transform like a butterfly. I think she is not at her best yet.

Most of you have probably seen this short film already: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27DpCWIQGps, where Alina gets gifted Masaru.

She cries real tears of joy, snuggling her face into Masaru's fur. Masaru was still a puppy then, the film shows the Japanese history and use of this particular breed of dogs.

The Japanese texts and voice overs make no sense to me, and sound rather strange with those cartoon like voice overs, but I suppose it was all in good nature, and probably some humour too.

Hopefully, someone with Japanese knowledge can summarise the film?

With off season coming up, I'll try to explore the skaters off ice lives a little more.

Hell is freezing over!

Bestiamanov - Alina proved that her victory at the Olympics was not an accident! Taking off my hat

:drama:

There is actual video evidence of this! :reye:

I'd post a link but I'm dead from shock

:dbana:

BTW Media for Fans tries to translate interview with Daniil, for now there are subtitles in about first ten minutes:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7DnYBFKypk

Edited: ah, they've translated moments about Alina in:
0:54
8:41
30:02
32:20
39:04

In the comments section you'll find Nadia Merkulova's full transcript translation. She's done 2 parts so far. It's not easy to find though, look for Kay A.A's comment saying: "If possible could you put the translation on description. Tq.", then unfold "view ... replies" and you'll find them.

I've found it already.

Thank you! :thank: After watching it until the end, not really understanding some parts, thinking that I understand others (but who cares, when you can see Alina, so gorgeous and pleasant to watch), just some thoughts:

-the photo from the laptop, with the Night King, reminding us that the waiting will be over soon (I remember I've seen some GoT fans here:biggrin:)

-but then, when Alina makes her entrance, she enlightens the entire room. So gorgeous, from head to toe, beautiful hairstyle, make-up, the perfect red dress. Anyone trying to say otherwise is just making a fool of himself, because it's so obvious, what a beautiful lady she is. And the way she behaves, gentle and calm, very polite and elegant, even the way she is holding her hands, or is smiling. It is just a pleasure to watch her!:love:

-all the support she received, the fans and the banners, make me so happy and thankful that they are always there for Alina. She deserves to be remembered every day how loved she is! :luv17:

-great choice of photo from the Olympics, beautiful and yet remembering us how much everything has changed. Alina has matured so much, I become emotional (again) :sad21::love:

-and well.. Masaru was so funny! The "hiding moment" is hilarious. And I noticed...how obedient and friendly she is. No more running away, she is there, beside Alina, and doing exactly what Alina says. Our girl made a great job in training and creating a great connection with Masaru, they are like a duo now, both well-behaved and gentle. The perfect duo!

What rodents live in the large cage that can be seen in the older private clips with Alina? First it was inside the house, but with Masaru now roaming the apartment, the cage was moved to the balcony.

That medal cabinet in Alina's room has probably the most 'valuable' collection in any skater's possession. It has lots of Alina's most precious trophies, awards, medals, her sports degrees and state decorations.

I think these are the two chinchillas, Zefirka and Dymka  Cute little fellows, but Masaru wanted to play too much with them
