Alina Zagitova

https://dni.ru/showbiz/2020/2/13/442984.html

Headline:
"Zagitova declared she're leaving..."

What could be lost in translation:
- I decided I don't want to compete in FS my whole life. My plans are quite different. Currently, I'm busy with a) shows and b) new elements.

--------------

We can safely believe this is definitely not her bye-bye...
Judging by a couple of the other headlines on this site, it has no credibility for me at all.

I'd believe a National Enquirer headline about Elvis sightings before anything on this site.

The same way majority of Russian athletes study in universities!
Medvedeva is already in her 4th year of University, same as Tuktamysheva :) they all attend sports universities.
Pretty much every single russian athlete attends a sports university without actually having to attend it.

Do we know for certain that she is still "attending" University?

But don't you know? ... when Alina will attend there will be discussions, did she went to exams? Did she fully rotated the Sport Psychology subject? With which edge did she enter the Ergo-physiology class?

Nah, I’m not talking about specifics.
It’s just Alina going to university doesn’t really mean it will take any toll on her competitive career, since it didn’t for all other athletes in Russia.
All the “oh she retired” talk just because she’s enrolling into university seems unfounded to me personally, since university being an obstacle to training is not really a thing for almost all of them.

I think it requires some attendance, but not nearly as much as a regular university.
Moreover, I think they really try to accommodate the needs of athletes.

Lovely words about all 4 of the girls from the photographer -

"As we know, Eteri Tutberidze almost does not give interviews, does not spend words on explanations - the students speak for her. The four best at the moment are on our March cover. Alena Kostornaya, Anya Shcherbakova and Sasha Trusova took the entire prize podium at the European Championships and go to the World Cup in Montreal. Alina Zagitova temporarily stopped her professional performances, but judging by yesterday’s comments from her fan club at @tatler_russia, her love for this Russian figure skating diamond is forever. From this shooting, I have the kindest memories. I did not think that the girls in life are SO fragile. We ordered adult clothes, the new season, the most fashionable bows, and they just drown in these things. Babies They do not understand high-profile brands at all and pull their hands to what they just like, and not to what is more expensive and statusier. Sincere, lively, radiant, ready to carry out any commands of the photographer (except that it was difficult for them to stand in heels even for five minutes). Perhaps only Alina gives the impression of a star who already knows her worth. With Sasha and Alina on the set were mothers. Anya and Alena came alone, and after shooting they got into a taxi and, under my amazed gaze, drove home on their own. They are generally independent. Real toilers. I will cheer for everyone. All of them are gold." @danilgolovkin style @sorenatik

Seems the Tatler March 2020 issue has been well received overall and everywhere in the media. Who knows where this exposure leads to? Glossy magazines like these grace the coffee tables at the most fanciest of places. And one successful photo shoot leads to another, well, after winning the podium of course. It will also bring more attention to the FFKKR Champions Gala end of March and the stops of the Tutberidze Show of Champions from the more financially powerful layers of society.

LOL, his comment on the girls being so small and looking so fragile, while each of them is an athlete packed with muscle ....
Often, these agencies work with ballerinas and rhythmic gymnasts, who are generally on the leaner and taller side of sporting females.

Little girls playing with expensive wardrobe most of their mothers won't likely buy for themselves ....

Figure skating at this level requires very strong ankles, but walking in heels is even more difficult that skating deep edges apparently ....

Still, wonderful outing for the girls in the midst of season, and they sure have had great fun by the looks of the few private casual photos and clips that have emerged.

"On cooperation with Alina: he feels some pressure, because he shares the ice with such an experienced athlete as Alina. But he likes it, he is proud of their cooperation.

The most striking thing about the whole show, in his opinion, is ice skating with Alina. And although they do not speak the same language, they get along very well on ice."

Exactly! I was just being sarcastic.

He does quite well for himself on the ice.
And I loved the fan video you posted above this post.
It gave an overhead view so I could get a better picture of how he and Alina interact on the ice.

I would love to be on the ice watching Alina whiz by me doing jumps, spins, etc....

FreeSkater is a hero. I liked the I-spin variation in the last video. Pity that she didn't performed it in Zurich. That would have been very cool to watch.
