Alina Zagitova

Don't worry about me, I'm fine. Now I enjoy life, just as I did before, only now I have something else besides figure skating.
Alina knows fans have been worrying for her non stop lately. 😊
I must say, seeing Alina so happy and excited with all the new things in her life right now is everything.

Like everyone else, I was really sad and worried about Alina not competing this season, but now I just feel like she made the right decision not to compete and instead take her time to enjoy life, learn new things and figure things out.
And knowing that she's enjoying her trainings more and still learning new things is a sign that Alina is not abandoning skating, she's just taking more control in her career and her life.

If she comes back to competition next season, it won't be easy but I'm sure she will be refreshed, super motivated and ready to focus on a new skating goal 100%.
Whatever she does, it will definitely be exciting to watch. 😁

I love this post. :thank:

Alina without make-up. I love seeing her natural beauty -

I love this so much -

Don't worry about me. I'm all good. I am now enjoying life, as it was all before. Only now I have something else besides figure skating

This little moment gives me hope that Alina and Alexei will skate a performance on the show at some point. Maybe during the finale -

Having fun on set -

Alina being an absolute angel worrying about us (her fans) and posting happy photos on her IG to cheer us up :love2:

It's so nice to hear that, especially considering Alina is a very private and introverted person.
Even Daria P. recently said that Alina found periscope and some streaming apps fun when she was younger, but even then she was quite an introvert (she used the word "closed", which I don't know how to correctly translate).
I feel like, us fans, can put some pressure, involuntarily, on athletes, to tell us what's going on.

I don't think it's something she feels naturally okay with (sharing a lot of things on social media, I mean), she's been quite silent on IG the whole time. But I feel like her fans can get too worried, to the point where they could collectively write a lot of comments on accounts of Alina and people around Alina.

Some fans can be quite bothersome and cross lines. There've been so many conspiracy theories about Alina, which were quite excessive... including that she's not allowed to train, she's not being let on the ice, she was not present in Novogorsk, etc.
Some even went as far as commenting on her parents' IGs, Leisan and Ilnaz's pages have so many comments of people telling them they sold off Alina to the show, they don't want her to skate, which I personally found to be quite bothersome.

So as glad as I am to get an update that she's happy with where she is, that she's keeping a good shape, she's happy to attend her training sessions (and Daniil saying her shape is quite good), that she's excited with opportunities she got, I kinda wish the craziness of some of my fellow fans would die down a little. :)
She doesn't owe anything to anyone, the last thing I would want is to force herself to competition because she's pressured to prove something again.

I am possibly projecting what I hope to be true onto Alina but after watching the videos of her on Ice Age and the Urgant show, I believe her confidence in herself and what she can do has risen so much that she will not allow herself to be pressured by public opinion.

Not that she won't care about her fans. Not that she will be completely immune to the online hate/harassment/bs that she gets. But I don't see it beating her down. It hasn't yet, and I just see her getting stronger and smarter. She is finding her way and making another path for herself outside of skating as well as creating a new path within it.

Watching her try to force her 18 year old body into the form of her 15 year old body, risking her health and possible injury, for a season that may not even happen, would break my heart. I would respect her choice and her right to make the choices necessary to be a competitive athlete at the highest level. I would celebrate every good result and positive outcome, but it would be hard not to be torn about it.

Well said Nussnacker & Finley....

I support whatever Alina wants to do. Of course I want to see her competing again, but I am glad it is not this season.
And Alina fans should be "over the moon" happy that we are seeing so much of her - even if she isn't competing.
The Sleeping Beauty Ice Show a few months ago. And now on Ice Age.
And if I were a betting man, I would put money on her performing at some point on Ice Age.

Who knows how things are going to "shake out" skating-wise and otherwise.
If and when we are ever released from the grip of this horrible pandemic nightmare.
But one thing is certain. Plans can change in the blink of an eye. Dreams can be cruelly crushed.

Alina has the opportunity to have fun with this Ice Show gig.
I am all for it and anything else she has the opportunity to explore and enjoy.

As the old song says: "We may never pass this way again.".
Do it while you are young. Do it while you can.

So true. Right now she is the reigning World and Olympic champion. She is 18. Her time is now.

Here is an article from Sports.ru transcribing the Urgant show appearance. It translates pretty clearly with Google chrome. Sports.ru decided to join the Alina Fiesta and give us 5 (!) positive articles about Alina today. If you choose to read the comment section make sure to select "Best". Trust me on this. It's the only way to maintain sanity. There are enough Alina fans to drown out the 'not-fans'.

Alina cannot please everybody, whatever she does, there are some picky people who always criticize her. There are also some over protective fans who treat her like a vulnerable doll. What Alina did and said recently really makes me relieved, she isn't affected by all those negative news.
Keeping silence helps her stay away from craziness in recent years. It's her personality, it's also a way to protect herself. It's true that people always pay more attention to girls who are extrovert. Nowadays, young girls cannot live without social media. They share their emotions and every details of life. However, excessive exposure to social media might have negative influence on their training and personal life. Most of them are too young to handle the malice from strangers. Once they reach the age of puberty, these things are mentally harmful. So I'm kinda grateful that Alina's family and herself chose to stay away from the social media before.
However, she is an adult now, wise and kind. She understands what works for her. It's time to show her wonderful life. Alina's words warmed my heart, because she really cares about her fans and is always kind to others. And yes, she shows so much confidence now. I'm sure she will never be disturbed by dramas and fuss. So happy for her !
I still hope she can return to the competition sooner or later, but it all depends on her. I've already got used to ignoring Russian elites' words, because they never took time to understand Alina. Whatever she does, she will make it step by step. Actions speak louder than words.

This site has an English translation of Alina on Urgant's show.
For those of us too lazy to run things through google translate.

Wow - Alina took her driving test on a manual transmission!
I don't know about Russia, but driving a "standard" is kind of a lost art in the USA.
I think even a lot of "sports cars" have some sort of automatic transmission now.

Baby Boss strikes again.
