#ZAGIWEEKVOL2 day 7: Alina’s heart of gold
"She's a true angel."

"I wanted to see Alina. But my seat was too far from the exit, and a lot of people crowded in front of me. I had to sit and wait for the others to leave.

Suddenly, the skaters skated to the chairs (I still did not understand what they were for on the ice) and grouped in two's and three's in anticipation of a common photo (every day 20 people who won special tickets in the lottery could take a photo with the skaters). There were a few fans left, myself included, and the lottery winners were off the ice.

Everyone tried to shout out to the skaters, to take photographs. Fortunately, the security and organizers did not prevent the fans from doing that. I found Alina without any problems - thanks to her tiger costume. She went up to one woman, accepted some gift, and talked to her. They hugged - so tightly that I thought it was Alina's friend or acquaintance. But then I saw that the woman was almost crying! She was so amazed! It became clear that she was as much a fan of Alina as I was.

I also wanted to give her a gift and tried my best to shout out to her. She was with the arena workers, away from me. Hearing her name, she began to look around. In the end, she saw me and asked, "Me?"

I said: "Yes, yes, yes !!!"

She came up with surprised eyes, just like a fawn's. My God, she was very surprised. In a sweet and quiet voice, she said "Thank you." Then she asked if she could hug me ... She came closer and really hugged me! She placed her hands on the top of my back. I could not even imagine this! I just wanted to make a present. It was a shock.

She is a real angel.

After communication with the fans came to an end, Alina went to the other half of the ice. There were chairs, and the rest of the skaters were having fun on them, riding them like sleds.

Alina was alone. She sat at a distance from everyone, like an abandoned puppy. I was worried ... But Alena Savchenko approached Alina. She put her chair across from her. They talked for a long time. I have no idea what they were talking about, but Alina smiled sweetly and looked so happy next to Savchenko. It touched me so much.

I think during this show Alina became close to Savchenko. They talked hand in hand on the second and third days. Fortunately, I was able to see their general photo session. Alina stood next to Savchenko and laughed every time Savchenko said something to her. After the general photo, they took a selfie. Alina looked at the photo for a long time with an amazed look - the same that she had after the words of Tessa Virtue at the demonstration performances at the Olympics.

Alina kept close to Savchenko even when they left the ice. As they left the arena, they were still taking selfies.

When the security asked the fans to leave, I went to the parking lot to say goodbye to Alina. There were already several dozen people there. It started to rain. Because of this, some skaters could not even come up to us. (The guards were holding umbrellas to keep the skaters from getting wet, so they walked to the buses one at a time. We couldn't blame them for anything. They waved at us anyway). Evgeni Plushenko, Boyan Jin and Savchenko are great. They came up to us.

And then - Alina! When she left the arena, one guy yelled her name. Despite the rain, she immediately came up to the fans. As well as on the ice, she did not refuse anyone an autograph or a selfie. Seriously, nobody. Almost all fans asked for her autograph. The guards tried to stop her. But she said something like, “It's okay. We have an umbrella." Wow! But, you know, even with an umbrella you can get wet if you stand in the rain for a long time. This happened with Alina. She kindly approached the fans and did not refuse anyone.

And you know what? One fan held out her hand with the programme for the Ice Fantasia show. She opened a page showing Alina. The program got wet from the rain. Alina took it in her hands, looked at the first page and said: “There is water here.” She pulled out the sleeve of her raincoat. For the fan's sake, she wiped the program with the sleeve of her Nike jacket! And she left an autograph.

Alina spent the most time with the fans.

Korean fans are truly amazed by Alina. She performed the Black Swan program for three days in a row, like in a real competition. She showed her best performances, and this surprised many - after all, this is no longer just an "ice show". Even the commentators were shocked.

And how charming she is ... People still say what a wonderful athlete she is, what a sweet and well-mannered person and what a bewitching beauty she has. Many began to root for her. It is difficult for Russian skaters to leave a good impression of themselves in South Korea (I think it's all because of Sochi-2014, a confusing story), but now everyone is saying 'Alina is different' and looking forward to her next visit to Korea."

"But I will never forget how, after OP 2019, Alina took pictures for a long time and signed autographs. There were a lot of people. The security said that Alina was like a rock star. She got into her minibus, but came out when she saw and heard fans calling her name, again and again until she paid attention to everyone

Alina:
"Advertising and support for social projects that I like are a part of my job.

Many talk about love and respect they have for me, so I ask you to respect my choice and my decisions.

It is very unpleasant for me to see what the comments under such posts have turned into.

This territory (my instagram) is mine and of my people.

I'm thinking now about closing Instagram."

Alina's previous post was an ad for an important state sponsored social project for youth, and it received a backlash from the usual gang of idiots - haterz from sports.ru that hate anything govt related, 'fans' from the 'second fan base' that jump at any chance to 'show their love', and some fans that somehow believe they have a right to tell Alina what she should and shouldn't do with her own insta account.
What are they writing and who are they? Does she have trolls just to write things to annoy her? Sad.

This is a really fair article about what Alina has been experiencing on social media. I thought it was kind and supportive but also honest. Taking into account that Alina is still a teenage girl. It's not possible that she won't make mistakes in her life. Especially dealing with her level of popularity. Even her fans have expectations. She cannot please everyone all the time and if she did it would be detrimental to her sanity. :(

I thought these were very wise words and good advice -

"Love for Zagitova on the part of Russian society is unprecedented - there is simply no other athlete who would be treated with such trepidation in Russia. Our society, tired of the vulgar stars of show business, has long been waiting for its princess - and waited.

However, Alina has already grown up - next year she will turn 20, which means that it is time for the princess to become a queen!

The brightest star from the constellation "crystal" has everything to get this status. The only condition is not to follow the lead of the haitrs, who are very counting on another violent reaction from Alina, but royally ignore any provocations from the “well-wishers”."

This was also nice to read -

"People who have the pleasure of being personally acquainted with Zagitova, in unison, note that Alina is an open, cheerful and completely conflict-free person. And there is no reason to doubt that this is indeed the case."

From FSO - more Alina related positivity from Dmitry Soloviev. Did Christmas come early? :)

"It is always interesting to know the opinion of a skater, a participant in the Pyeongchang Olympics ..."

"Russian dancer, Sochi Olympic champion in the team Dmitry Soloviev, in an interview with SE, called Alina Zagitova's victory at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang beautiful.

- And you and Alina Zagitova on the "Lednikovoe" did not consult on this topic? An example of a skater who left at her peak. Although she put her career on hold rather than quit, yes.

- We somehow do not discuss sports. She left, or rather, suspended her career after victories at the Olympics and the World Championship. She won the Olympics very beautifully, I was there, I saw it. Others can only dream of her achievements."
