Alisa Efimova & Misha Mitrofanov

I wonder could anyone has a link to a medal ceremony & press conference?
Many thanks!

This interview from 2022 gives a nice insight into Alisa relationship with her mother:
It posted in the Replay thread by TT_ Finn - thank you very much! And I thought it deserves the place here too - google translate was quite good on this occasion

Congratulations, it was dynamic confident skate. So happy!
Anyone can explain why they got level 2 on twist and level 3 on sbs spins. ?
watched fs practice- they looked very tense and who can blame them?! The pressure is immense. Skating last after a great short is never easy that not counting all other factors in …

What a roller coaster of the week. Elated, relieved and heartbroken.
On plus side: 1) a back to back second National title is not to be sneezed at.
2) Misha is not injured , it was a near thing - now I see why M/K do their sbs on opposite sides of the rink, very wise!
3) fantastic short
4) under immense pressure of defending the title and skating last , they did a decent job, not great but enough

What worries me is that Misha who was solid as a rock last season is not such a rock anymore. A hand down in SP (Alisa was good) and ur axel in FS which nearly could have cost him an eye or other serious injury. Last season it seemed unthinkable that Misha can miss a jump ...sigh ...

Congratulations to Alisa and Misha. Sorry they can't go to the Olympics, but I look forward to seeing them at their other assignments.

I was reading more about Alisa and was so surprised to learn that she was coached for a while by the great Tamara Moskvina. No wonder she has such beautiful carriage and lift positions!

I think Alisa must have had ballet training well before she got to Moskvina. And not all Moskvina skaters have a beautiful posture. However all st Petersburg’s coaches put a great emphasis on ballet classes it’s a tradition (Moscow is different), and as Alisa’s mother from St Petersburg maybe Alisa had a ballet training from early age. I am inclined to think that she is so natural. Unlike some that do some pseudo ballet moves ( I am looking at you Isabeau!) but have no carriage.
I would love to hear from Alisa more about her early career.
On the different subject, the line up at 4CC looks quite promising!

Alisa has beautiful lines and she finishes things through to her fingers, which most skaters do not. I wouldn't be surprised if she had, at some point, had a bit of coaching from someone associated with Vaganova.

Alisa and Misha made a statement yesterday to the media:

Thank God they are thinking of 2030 Olympics, no talk of a medical school (I was very alarmed when I heard that!)

On a lighter note, was anyone else amused when Johnny (I think it was him) called Alisa a giraffe? A giraffe! I laughed so hard that tears came out. That was in reference to her neck line and in 'the best possible way' he said but still it WAS so funny...

I decided to post a new interview here too
Loved many things from it. Alisa is one of those lucky women who look even more beautiful without a makeup & hairdo. Both come across as such genuine and humble people. Loved the story about how they had to scramble to put a new Sp together just two weeks before the august comp. Would be so interesting to see that Riverdance sure they must have a video. Could use it for Gala - that skate their last year sp which’s a bit odd but I suppose they didn’t have time for exp program with all that extra work they had to put into another sp.

The media keeps getting their timeline wrong, lol...she got her green card in summer of 2024. Three years of residency puts her earliest citizenship application in 2027. Not exactly a "passport delay."

Fanastic interview. Finally we can see how relaxed they were about the whole petition process and were really able to just focus on the skating and giving their best. Interesting how they think of themselves as "powerful" skaters, and how the short program music reflects that well. I thought their short programs this and last year were fantastic, but I couldn't quite get on board with their free skate choices.

I think they were very hiding their disappointment well but no mistake it was heartbreaking. This broke MY heart when I stumbled across it :

Another ironic twist is that Alisa’s mother is going to Milano with her charge Iida Karhunen. What a story it would be if Alisa was there too…

idk I think we should be careful about reinterpreting skater's words when they have been very clear about their feelings. She literally says "honestly there was no feeling of disappointment because it was out of our hands and the main focus for nationals was to perform well."
They knew from the beginning that she would need a special exception from a strict immigration law, one that has never been granted to an athlete (let's not bring up Tanith Belbin- that was a completely different case). But they chose to hang on to hope. However, their hope is not over; they can choose to go another four years if they want to, to make the 2030 Olympic team. And I'm excited to see if that hope sustains them through these next four years, as Alisa has said, "four years is a LONG time"!

I've just come across this video (not of great quality), in the absence of any news it was good though:
