Aljona Savchenko & Bruno Massot

Wow! I never thought I'd see her do a 3T-3T. She has always had fabulous presentation but has never before been a really good jumper. They have great programmes this year - especially the SP - and I sincerely hope they can go clean and win Worlds.

So proud of Aliona and Bruno today. WORLD SILVER MEDALISTS! :cheer:

Their genuine friendship being shown both on and off the ice is so awesome to see. That plus their performances are what make me such a fan.

Here's to Bruno continuing to heal from his injury and having a great preparation for next season! :)

I've recently become quite a fan of this pair. Aliona's sheer grit combined with her classiness makes her an ideal pair girl, and Bruno is just so nice you have to love him. And their programs this year were just stunning. IMO they deserved the world title over Sui/Han...but I'm not getting picky here!

Also can I just say that their twist is absolutely humanly impossible? That could be a quintuple if you ask me.

I can't imagine a team trying a quintuple twist - they would need A LOT of off-ice practice beforehand to make sure the timing was perfect. If it's slightly off, there's not a lot of room and she could end up smacking him in the face. I can't imagine what that crash on the ice would look like.

That being said, Aliona and Bruno's twist is one of the best, if not the best, in the world!

Yeah, quintuple would be almost impossible. I think Bruno is the only guy who can throw his partner high enough to get in all the rotations. I just thought it would be cool if someone figured out a quint twist. Yuzuru's talking quint jumps; I guess I got a little crazy LOL.

They will be at Nebelhorn Trophy. I guess that's where the new programs will be revealed.

Here's an article of a recent workshop for young German pairs: https://www.eislauf-union.de/media1/news/265-kaderlehrgang-und-workshop-im-paarlaufen-vom-02-06-09-2017

The text mentions Aljona & Bruno -- my German is very rusty so I won't provide a (bad) translation, sorry!

In the pics you see Aljona, Robin and Alexander König.

Any news on Aliona and Bruno lately?
Apparently they already revealed their program music choices back in June(!) but the info didn't make its way to English-speaking forums? :scratch2:

From the programs thread:

I don't see this info on first page, so i guess it was not posted here? According to june's issue of Pirouette magazine music choices of Aljona Savchenko and Bruno Massot are:
SP: Flamenco "Spanish Flame" by Maxim Rodriguez
FP: "La terre vue du ciel" by Armand Amar

The new competitive programs have been / are being discussed in several threads (YT links: SP FP), but I just watched their Nebelhorn gala program and came here to say: go watch it, it's interesting! And I say this as somebody who finds most galas and show programs rather bland and boring. https://youtu.be/OJ7DC3DXiiI

Just watched their new programs - great! Bruno has improved his overal skating again, their lifts are fab, their spins are much improved and Aljona looks as good as ever. The only thing that makes me wonder is that they don't have that quad twist, I'm quite sure they could do it. Anyway, kudos to Bruno, he's obviously a very hard worker and the way he's taken on this oppurtunity he's been given is impressive and inspiring. :hap10:
