All Brian Joubert News!

I think they are like twins - according to you they are both very tall and anyone can see how they both like to flap their arms every chance they get.

Happy New Year funny girl :)

You are so good at getting people's words and twisting the meaning of them.:bow::bow: You should have a gold medal for this skill.

Any way, I believe that you have determined to make me feel  for the last a few hours in this year.

Happy New Year!:laugh::clap::clap::clap:

ETA: you might want to watch the actual interview, because I'm not sure what I think he was trying to say is coming across correctly in my posts (the interview, as I mentioned, was in French with what was apparently a simultaneous translation). Either that, or wait for Natacha to drop by and clarify it! :)

It came across perfectly!

I don't know French. Is this the interview that you were talking about in the above a few posts? Brian looks so handsome!:) (take Brian's look discussion to Brian's thread.)

These are much older interviews.
Medusa already suggested drooling over Brian pics!

Apparently Brian's releasing a new book in Febuary. There aren't any details on the content though. seeing as the book seems square, it may be more of a photo book than the next part of his autobiography. Plus it's part of a collection called "album miroir".

:p Oh, sorry. Aparently, I didn't pay attention to Brian sometimes.

Brian's Breaking the Ice segment can be seen on Dailymotion - for the time being, at least. Enjoy!

Thanks so much, B!

Thanx B, that was nice video, I laughed very much, so Jouby and Plushy have lots of commons, they prefer the 6.0 system, they both are fond about motorbikes and they dont want to be trained by tarasova;)
He is very charming in this interview!
and the english translation from my fav:love:

No, Brian said he wouldn't mind being coached by TaT... I think the choreo thing fell through this year because they couldn't agree on music, and actually I'm happy with Brian's choice of choreographers, I feel DenStavs have done a great job with his LP (and changed/ toned down some parts of Rise that really needed it).

My guess is that most of the skaters who came up under 6.0 and skated a significant part of their career under it prefer the previous system; I know Joubert, Plushenko, Johnny and Stephane have all expressed a preference for it, and I think their reasoning is similar - that IJS has benefits but also forces skaters to do very specific things and doesn't really promote creativity and innovation. I think some of this can be fixed without reverting to the old system (which won't happen anyway).

Skaters who've been skating under IJS since their novice/junior days probably like it better - I bet Patrick Chan wouldn't want to skate under 6.0.

Thank you for the link. I enjoyed the clip immensely. Was this filmed before his injury? Loved the part when he goes through his toys and reminiscences about using the red fingernail polish as blood, so cute.

That was priceless!

Was it Nicky Slater doing the translation into english? Could anyone tell??

I think it was done before injury because (as far as i remember) Brian's appearence was announced quite a while back..

Hi good to hear that Joubert is getting better and may be ready for the Euro.
I wonder if everyone is going to Euro. Many skaters seem to skip 4CC to focus on the Olympics. Men's Olympics is around mid-Feb and Euro seems almost less than a month before the Olympics. Travel and jet lag may be a less issue for European skaters who travel within Europe than for participants of 4CC though.

Anyone know if Joubert is definitely going to Euros or not? I have not heard much about how his injury is healing.

Joubert skated at the Courchevel gala a couple of weeks ago - here's one program from that event. Obviously this is not a competitive skate, but it gives you an idea. According to Annick Dumont and other sources, he was training all his jumps by then. I'm not aware of any reason for him not to go to Euros, and obviously I wish him all the best for the rest of the season :).

Thanks for the link :agree: ! He seems to be in good spirits and the jumps look pretty good, I'm excited to watch him at Euros!

I found a new interview with Brian (in French, google translation here). Brian says he's pretty tired and that he caught some sort of (minor) gastro bug. On the other hand, he says the foot injury is not a problem and that he feels confident. Hmm.

Other stuff: Joubert won't arrive in Tallinn until Monday, he thinks the contenders are Plushenko, Lambiel, Verner and himself (well, obviously), and that the level at Euros is the best in the world (obviously he's not referring to the ladiezzzzz!). He's probably going to have to get new skates after Euros and he'll have to be careful not to get injured in them. His goal at Euros is not really placement but to see how the LP is perceived, and he hopes to do two quads this time.

Not from the interview, but something I read elsewhere: Joubert probably won't attend the opening ceremony in Vancouver, as he intends to train elsewhere arrive late. In his case, this might not be a bad idea.
