Amber Glenn Withdraws from US Nationals due to COVID

Has Amber made a decision as to whether or not she will continue skating. I can't imagine she wants to finish her career on such a sad note. She was so powerful and amazing in 2021 and I'd love to see her have one last great season.

Well, it seems likely, as she has moved to Colorado Springs and is training at the Olympic training center. Also, she's only 22, she could skate for several more years if she wants.

Honest opinion? I wish Amber would get on with her life. She's always been one of those skaters that would'a, could'a, should'a...but didn't She had a great skate at Nationals in 2021 but other than that has been unremarkable. OR, I wish she could find some help with her inconsistency. She's a beautiful skater when she's on but never seems to be able to get through an entire program without some mishap. Whatever she decides, I wish her well.

Well, again, she's moved to a different facility. Hopefully a new coach will help her with those issues.

Thank you for saying that. Gracie and Amber, you go right ahead and skate if that is what you want to do....I just want you two to be happy.

I don't believe I said anything about not wanting to watch her and there really isn't any need to be testy about my comments. They were my opinion and, quite frankly, not new. And Gracie and Amber are two totally different skaters with different reasons to either stay in the sport or move on. I think anyone who has skated on the elite level and put in the hours and the highs and lows deserves to be happy with their decisions.

Well, Gracie is 26, Amber is 22. Gracie has been to the Olympics, has two national titles, was fourth at worlds, was clearly a world class skater, competitive anywhere. But she will never be a top 5 skater at worlds again. Amber did finally get a silver at 2021 nationals, after repeated disappointments. I can see Amber looking for a little redemption. She is certainly capable of medaling at San Jose, and is young enough to continue if she enjoys skating and is willing to put in the work.
