American Idol 4/24-4/25 -- and beyond??

I'm wondering if angry Melinda fans will now power-vote for Blake? Any of the top three are fine with me, though. The Idol tour is coming to Fresno and tickets go on sale Saturday.........I'm ready...........42

is it adult or just more mature

need I remind you the 'grannies' who shamelessly voted for Clay every week...

I love Blake's voice...

Oh, no, I am so sad about Melinda. I wanted to hear what she'd do in the finals, every song is an adventure with her. I know exactly what Jordin and Blake will sound like, what their faces will look like, there will be no surprises. Sigh. :p

But I predict a Chris Daughtry/Jennifer Hudson career for her, very successful.

I think that a large percentage of voters are young, at least those who vote repeatedly (as opposed to those of us who cast a couple of votes and call it a night). So, here is the scoop from my 13 year old daughter (who predicted Melinda would go): Jordin is popular among the younger crowd because she's only 17. Girls dig Blake.

Ironically, my daughter LOVES Melinda! I have never seen her react like that to any celebrity. Okay, well, good, maybe all those years of hanging around a former voice teacher Mom have trained her ear! Or maybe the kid just has good taste!

I still sit on the fact that it was a much older crowd that obsessively voted for Clay Aiken - and yes I realize he didn't win (though compared to Ruben's album sales... I think we know who won in the end)

they're the same 'older' crowd that waited in line to get tickets to his concerts, threw their bras at him (and underwear with their number in them, which I still find incredibly tacky....) and bought multiple copies of his single and debut album

and said that because I refused to so those things that I was not a fan (I was 18, and way more mature than those fans lol at least on this topic) ;)

It's not just teenyboppers that get obessed ;)

but I do think the younger crowd is to blame this time around... but I'm not reading up on the boards like I used to so who knows ;)

As long as the public is allowed to vote...more than once...you will have results like this.

Now, the person who deserved most to win is now gone. IMHO. So now I could care less (not that I cared that much to begin with)

Hardly anyone that votes would have voted for Judy Garland if she had been around and been a contestant. !!!

Grgranny, I'll bet you're right. Also couldn't see the likes of Rosemary Clooney, Peggy Lee, Connie Francis, Billie Holiday, and Dean Martin getting too far either. At least not in this day and age.

I actually think it would be interesting to see what would have happened if a lot of today's pop stars had tried to start out on "Idol" -- there are some that I am willing to bet would not have even been invited to Hollywood.

I Thought It Would Come Down To Melinda And Jordin = But I'm Not Surprised Either That It Is Blake = Reason Melinda Was Better --good From The Get Go -she's A Back Up Singer - I Think That Jordin And Blake Had To Work Harder To Get Where They Are
And I Was Pulling For Jordin From The Beginning So I Hope She Wins

watching the finale right now

so far the only judge who is paying attention is Simon. Blake's first song was not the best, but it was better than Jordin's... she was screeching all over the place it was painful... Blake was out of breath and flat though...

here's hoping the second round is better...

it was definitely Jordin's night... she rebounded after the first song.. Blake - not so much

so congrats to her... she deserves to win

Blake was embarassing to say the least. You know all the questions people had about Sanjaya and how he stayed in the competition so long, well I've wondered the same about Blake. He was just awful!! Mark my word, he'll win.

Jordin just got better and better.

Dee

Jordin was awesome = she has to win = been pulling for her all along == BUT I was listening to a local radio show this morning and they had callers saying that they dialed Jordin's number but it was Blakes voice = did anyone else hear that

Okay, this is too much!! All the above noted singers Never needed a show like American Idol to launch their careers - especially the great Judy Garland.

But the thing is, this isn't a singing contest, it's a "teen idol" contest. They are looking for the next Britney Spears or Justin Timberlake, not the next Caruso.

Melinda was the best singer, but she was too old (in singing style as well as age).

Blake making funny, squeeking noises with his mouth -- hey, there you go! :)
