Andrei Mozalev

Cheer up, ladies. Today Alexandrina posted a link to Davydenko band telegram channel (will they already start promoting this brand properly or will it happen sporadically?). Davydenko's assistants will be responsible for this channel, if I understood it clearly. These are people who are maximally involved in the process with the most accurate information. If they have new information about Andrei's competitions, it will appear there.

In any case, we have the fun sector telegram channel and other information channels. We will not remain in an information vacuum
Andrei's latest story linked to Davydenko Band so it looks positive that he will appear on it! Of course I am hoping for fancams only ;) I have subscribed to a couple of channels, one of them had a cool alternative view of his Vangelis free skate at nationals!

Can't believe it has been 2 years since he won junior worlds... I remember watching it live!

Me too! In the office, in the empty conference room before like 6 am… it was almost life sized screen. I totally cried!

I checked out description of Telegram, and it’s like ‘favoured by extremists’. Great, now it is favoured by the figure skating fans. I guess we can be a bit extreme…

That’s a lovely memory. The last truly truly wonderful day, I think, as far as figure skating was concerned. No pandemic, no nothing bad yet…. Sheer joy when the kid got it. Will always be grateful to Mozalev for that.

In my memories, this is the only bright event in the dark times when the World Cup was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and ice training was canceled due to a lockdown, which destroyed the hopes of many skaters and ruined their careers. Andrei was lucky twice: the JWC was not canceled, he was able to come and participate; he was able to show his best skating of the season and win the championship with a clear advantage.

I know that many people are of the opinion that junior awards are not important when an adult career begins. However, it was after winning this title that Andrei entered the top of world athletes and our national sports top, which is no less important for him. Having the title of the current junior world champion and 4F greatly helped Andrei in his first adult season, although he spent it extremely unsuccessfully. Therefore, I believe that he was able to use his advantages much better than Yerokhov, the previous JWC from Russia.

I also became interested in the career of Andrei Gryazev, the first JWC from Russia in the new century (2004). The beginning of his career was as difficult as Andrei Mozalev's, but it seems to me that in this segment of his career, young Andrey is doing a little better. Andrei Gryazev's first skate at the adult World Championships was as unsuccessful as Andrei Mozalev's skating at the Olympic Games. However, in his first senior season, Andrei Gryazev was 12th at the European Championships, while Andrei Mozalev stopped a step away from the podium and became 4th. I don't know if this fact gives me hope or not. It can be stated that Andrei is going through the same difficulties as his predecessors.

Despite the fact that his career is not easy, not everything happens the way we would like, he is still doing well. Andrei didn`t spend the first adult seasons waiting for the difficulties of adolescence to pass and it would be possible to return, like Erokhov. He struggles with problems here and now and has achieved more than Gryazev could do in his first senior season. He make hay while the sun shines (I hope I used the proverb correctly, I have trouble understanding English idioms).

Oh, this is a long-standing scandal from 2018, which has exhausted itself by 2020. Currently, ordinary law-abiding citizens communicate in Telegram, many companies have established channels in Telegram. Don't worry that joining this social network will make you a suspicious person :ninja:

Mozalev probably did better this season than the last, despite the ending the season on the low. Overall, he has that ‘maybe’ going for him until he maintains his position on the national team. His best overall competition this year was probably Russian Nationals. What I hope to see next from him is two programs with one total fall in one competition 🤞 I low key wonder if he will finally drop the second quad out of his short for 3Lz to give the impression of better stability…

Well, IG is officially over, but we have other ways to contact the skaters and the devoted fans of the skaters. Fun-sector posted information today that Andrei is definitely taking part in the 1st channel cup. These guys usually check everything and are in touch with the skaters and (I know for sure) with Davydenko, so their information can be trusted. There are no official lists yet, but they can be posted very late, the day before the competition. Trusova and Aliyev will not participate, to my regret. They write about Andrei's participation as a fact, I will believe them.

Omg, omg, so happy! I was worried they would slash down men’s team. 🥰🥰🥰

I had not come across Gryazev before but it looks like his senior career had several highs and lows. I wonder if he had any pressure to learn more quads in those days.
Make hay while the sun shines is a cool way to say make the most of an opportunity when available :giggle: (although I don't hear this often, our language is just fading over time)!

I am glad to hear that Mozalev will take part, hope it is a good experience for him

Ok people farornaskonung over on the Music suggestions 22/23 thread said that Andrei should skate to this song:

What do we think? I would like it...

My dream is always the Golden City. But, heh, that’s me. I tried editing a few videos to it, and to Andrei Makarevich’ One Day the World Will Bend for Us, but I have neither the patience, not the musicality for it 🤣

I haven't heard of the those could you post them like I did?

It’s just nostalgia, because it is from the same era as I’ll Never Forget You.

Golden City

The other one is not really a gliding tune, I just associate it with his career in my head.

A new interview about Olympics

A new interview about Olympics
Can't view it, unfortunately (anti-propaganda measures, I guess?). Argh. And I need it in my life!

There are some photos from new interview :giggle: In a new sweatshirt with another cyborg teddy bear, now in pastel.

This color really suits Andrei. He looks very young and gentle.

Your words made me think hard  These were the times of Plushenko, Yagudin and Lysacek, so no, he was not forced to jump fours of different types. He had only 2 successful 4T attempts in his career. Skatingscores remembers everything (sorry, I transliterated his surname incorrectly, traditionally spelled Griazev, although it is very strange for me).

It is impossible to imagine what a difficult path figure skating has taken over the years, now 11-year-old boys and girls are skating like this.

I found a similarity between these two guys in that they both very quickly and unexpectedly reached the top in the juniors and desperately tried to reach the same level, moving into adults, and failed. So far, much is similar. However, the path of each person is individual, perhaps the path of young Andrei will not be so thorny.

I`m very glad that Andrei's interview appeared today. For me now it's like vitamins or a portion of sunlight.
I hope that next week Andrei will go on the ice and show his special programs for the last time in this damn season.

In terms of music, I thought Shostakovich or Rachmaninoff would suit him well (I don't think outside the box too much). I would love to see him skate to the Matrix soundtrack, it's one of my favourites.

I can see it the U.K, I am surprised as I didn't think there would be restrictions outside of YT/social media channels.

"I can't live without figure skating." Interview with figure skater Andrey Mozalev
💙💙

I like his passion (this is my feeling from him)!

Figure skating has definitely moved towards a jump focus now. I believe skaters in Russia must be under a lot more pressure these days to succeed, some of this I attribute to the media, some on the incredible historic victories over the years. I wish for him to skate without this pressure next week!
