Yes, the whole team, including the alternatives received the Olympic uniforms. We’ll get the final word tomorrow, and at least this stressful period will be over. And if he doesn’t gets selected, Olympics would miss out on something beautiful.

He will still go to Krasnoyarsk with the team even if he's the first alternate and they may still change their mind there. The last time Kolyada/Aliev/Samarin basically continued proving themselves in training until they had to decide who gets on the flight to Tokyo. I am not sure that necessarily did them any good as Kolyada ended up peaking in practices not at the actual Olympics.

Oh so he will probably be an alternate after beating his main compeittor 2 major competitions in a row. If Evgeni beat Andrei in one of those competitions I would be OK with this. But not the way it currently is.

Last time Samarin failed spectacularly at the CRF where he went to from the pre-Olympics camp. Maybe it was mental, having the OG just out of reach all that training time. Those damn Olympics were jinxed,I tell you. Hope that doesn't repeat.

I've been watching Andrei since the 2019 JGP series and he impressed with his free skate at junior worlds 2020. There was also the interview about what he carries in his bag which I thought was quite interesting. But I was really wowed by his SP at euros last week - I like his soft skating and I think he is projecting out to the audience a bit more. Call me a new fan!

There goes my hope that Mozalev would have the Olympic ice to show his level of mastery and not worry about anything else for once. But nope, it's another Mozalenko duel, another do or die. So sad for Kolyada, so sad for both Mozalev and Semenenko. Stay strong, Mozalev.
