Work with a new choreographer. The coach is fine, Anna is comfortable with her. As far as polishing goes, Anna has definitely improved since last season. I see no reason for a coaching change (unless there is some behind the scenes personal conflict between she and her coach).Yeah but she needs better package. Or else next season will be very difficult for her.
Her team needs to find out what music Anna can connect with, and go from there. Among the Russian seniors, I think Anna is the one who hasn't really found what style she should adopt and what programs she can perform from the heart. I hope I don't upset anyone by saying so in her Fan Fest--because I do like her, but she needs some changes. Her on-ice persona (to avoid the dreaded word "packaging") is at conflict with itself: She wears dramatic costumes and skates to big music, but often performs without the most committed expression. Her long limbs lend her an elegance she can capitalize on, but many find her movements and spins sloppy.I am thinking... As talented as she is it seems her team doesn't do much to her when it comes to polishing. Had she been in the hand of someone like Tat, maybe there will be a major chance?
IMO she should turn her Phoenix ex into a short program. and use that same costume. Her team needs to find out what music Anna can connect with, and go from there. One route would be going to someone like TAT (though maybe not TAT herself) for some polishing, so she can do her programs like her current ones, but better. Another route is, maybe Anna can say, "Hey, though I'm long-limbed and Russian, maybe elegant or dramatic just isn't my thing." I think many were impressed by Anna's Rise Like a Phoenix exhibition; perhaps she can try portraying something more modern in her competitive programs as well.

Not a problem, of course, since Anna's interview is right below, but I hope you don't mind if I import it to Liza's thread?Psst, translation actually links to Liza's interview. Not a problem, of course, since Anna's interview is right below, but I hope you don't mind if I import it to Liza's thread?
For Anna's lovers, and for those who think that her coach never smiles ...

same club??? I am confused. They have different coaches don't they?I remember seeing photos but thank you for sharing the full video here! I've just noticed that Anna, Sergey and Adian are members of the same club. Nice to see people love them a lot. And thanks to the person recording this video focuses a lot on Anna and her coach.
Yes, but they're all part of the Sambo-70 club. It's huge and it's mostly about sambo, not figure skating, just as the name suggests. As far as skating goes, Eteri, Tsareva, Chaikovskaya and a whole bunch of other coaches work there.same club??? I am confused. They have different coaches don't they?
