Anna Pogorilaya

Unsure in every single moment? Would have failed, if she made a mistake? No, just no. Am I still in Anna's fanfest or not? kalee is talking about an absolute meltdown, and while she wasn't perfect she hasn't had a real meltdown for over a year now. She didn't fall, she thought quickly on her feet, even when things didn't go her way! This was a huge step forward for her. She has problems with her leg. And she still went away with a silver medal at Europeans!

Let's officially retire all the #Pogosplatting, #Pogofalls, etc. Hope that they are gone for good

I think Anna fans never used those ridiculous terms anyway. At least I did not.

On happier terms:

Anna x Bear in Elevator!

Congrats to Anna P for winning the Silver Medal! Gutsy performance from her
and well deserved Silver!

Yay Anna! As I said in the FS thread, I was impressed with her improvisation and fighting performance! Congrats on silver!

Very happy for Anna's silver! Not her best skate (possibly due to some missed some training time bc of her knee injury?), but she sure showed her intelligence and determination. I personally would have had her FS second, but oh well.... Hoping she's at her best at Worlds and has another podium placement!

A little late to the party, but congratulations to Queen Anna! What a beautiful second place! Just love the way she is such a fighter. I didn't quite understand why her coach stuck her tongue out after Anna's skate. :scratch3: If her injury is still bothering her, I hope she has a chance for at least a little bit of rest and therapy.

Pogorilaya: "I'm going to Switzerland to participate in the Art on Ice show. After the Olympic season I participated only in several shows. Now I will take part in 10 performances. I'm just happy!"

I hope that in the Art On Ice shows she is able to perform easy routines a not do additional damage to he knees. She will have about 5-6 weeks after the shows to prepare for Worlds.

Interesting that Anna is kind of replacing Ashley who wanted to focus on 4CC and now isn't even going. I'm happy that Anna is getting more work. Her new ex is great, she looks so mature. Sometimes it's hard to believe she is just one year older than Med.

late, I know, but just wanted to say that for me she showed true champion mindset - not every skater, even from the top could whip that 3T and have this 3-3 combo done out of the blue like Anna. Guts, grit, fighter spirit, determination and persistence - all is paying off and a glaring difference was visible between Anna and Maria in every area (sorry, but we're not in Russia anymore...).

FS was probably the most emotional performance this season so far from Anna in my opinion, this program is a great vehicle for her, overall she has one of the best set of programs this year in Ladies for me. Yes - FS was not technically perfect (and she really should consider changing the ending to not finish AGAIN behind music...), but SP was great and still her PCS was nowhere near right mark, especially comparing her to other skaters (if backloading gives you automatically a boost in PCS, judges should make a rule of it, because right now I don't see such...) - I mean, why a mature, sophisticated, refined so much already skater like Anna is usually so lowballed in PCS? It's getting really on my nerves...

Anyway - congratulations to Anna and her team (Tsareva's meh reaction after FS should be made into a meme ), lots of rest and wish she will have a great experience touring with shows!!!

Hello fellow PogomonGo players...eh...wrong thread - but uh...if you're playing Miitomo on your phone, I've created a Mii for Anna. The next two weeks there are some figure skating costumes in Miitomo drop, so you might want to give it a try!

Check out Anna's Mii here!

That 3Lz-3T in the second half was so interesting... if Anna has the ability to backload, hopefully she will do it next year so the judges have less excuse to hold her down. Still, first priority has to be getting 100% healthy. I'm just imagining what she'll be able to do when she is!

I don't think she should start to backload. She had to jump the triple-triple later, or she would've lost, not only silver, maybe even a podium place. Interesting is though to compare. Anna scored 137 which is fairly conservative and worse than her usual scores that mostly go over 140. So it didn't help her at all, probably because her GOE's went down, too. It's good to have the combination out of the way from the start to get more stable. That she is able to land it later is a relief and good to know, but I still wouldn't change the layout. Because that is inviting a whole bunch of problems, imho. Maybe she could try it in the short, but in the long it seems too risky. When Evgenia missed her combo sometime earlier in the season and she did it later her scores went higher than usual. Now of course she does a second triple-triple combi in the second half. How any lady should ever beat this Idk. I love Anna, but I think the only chance she realistically has for beating Evgenia is if Evgenia starts to make mistakes. And I wouldn't count on it at least this season.

Anna's banquet look!

I can't describe how much I respect Anna! She is a really special person. After that horrible GP season last year, not everyone could come up to this point. Keep on mind that she was never the darling of Russia. She was nowhere near Adelina, Liza, Julia or Elena when she was in juniors. And she had to prove herself every single time she competed. Watching her free skate from Ostrava many times, she was fighting to get that silver this time. I almost cried at that moment I saw her happiness when she found out that she got it. I hope she will keep her game up and will be on top of the podiums one day. She really deserves it! :sad4:

Anna seems to have so much fun with art on ice. Here is a picture with Daisuke. Two of my absolute favourites together, how cool is that?

Silverfoxes posted a link to fancam of the AOI show in Deniss Vasiljevs thread, it's abput 40 minutes long, and there is Anna's Rise like a Phoenix EX!
Here's a fancam of the show - the Four Seasons piece is right at the beginning. Deniss comes out around a minute & a half into it. It's not perfect, but it was just the first show and I'm sure there will be better performances. At first I thought the duet portion was really short, but keep watching, there's more:

I hope there will be some better quality videos soon!
