I am a bit surprised, normally they try to keep one GP at Europe and another one 'long haul' Doing both in North America is a bit unfair?

Medvedeva has exactly the two Grand Prix's Anna had the last season. Realistically speaking, Med doesn't need Rostelecom. She will win either way. But Anna was out of the medals at Worlds so she now has to face Osmond and Daleman. It's really drawn out, and I'm a bit scared. I'm not confident she will make the final, there are many 'new' faces this year who will fight for these places. She could win Skate America, but Skate Canada seems very unlikely.

Anything is possible. Kaetlyn will obviously be the home favorite, but it's not a given that she will be in top form, or anyone else for that matter. I don't know if Marin is necessarily going to be amazing at her first senior GP ever, and I think Anna's odds are better than Maria or Ashley, but it's 5 months away, so all kinds of things can happen between now and then.

It seems from a lot of twitter users and people who were at the show that they really adored Anna and were impressed by her skating. Hopefully that warm reception will help her in the competitions to come. And if her new SP or LP is Anna Karenina, it can only be good. Can't wait to see it on video!

She smiles so joyfully, even in that small picture, haha. Ah, she's such a wonder. For some reason I'm getting more hopeful every day that she can really get a place for the Olympics. And if she's in the team, that she will medal.
I wonder if The Rose is the song by Bette Midler. And I wonder if we're going to see this or Anna Karenina in the broadcast...

^^^Oh, it is THE The Rose. Love it! Can't wait to see Anna skate to it. So happy for her that she is having all these positive experiences. Hopefully this is the beginning of a confidence-building off season so she can come back (like the warrior she is) for the Olympic season.
I will never forget her tears in Helsinki in the K & C after her heartbreaking skate. Then after a while she took her fingers and forced her mouth into a smile, and the audience gave her a standing ovation. It was an unforgettable moment. It made me love her all the more!

Never knew Westlife's version was a cover.
I have to be honest, I've never been that fussed on the song.
But, hey!
You never know, maybe Anna can change that for me!

Haha, The Rose is so classical Bette Midler, I never knew there was a Westlife version. It's one of these songs that has been covered a lot, though. I'm hoping someone uploads a video, every Anna fan should see this. It was so beautiful.

2017-2018 Grand Prix assignments are posted. I am so thrilled that Anna will perform in Skate America at historic Lake Placid, the site of two previous Winter Olympics. I purchased tickets and made hotel reservations 6 months ago in the hope that Anna would be at this event, since she has never been to Skate America before....my wish came true. I had tickets for Worlds in Boston, but could not attend...I will not miss Anna in Lake Placid. I can't wait to see the Queen in person.
I hope the Olympic history of Lake Placid will be a good omen for Anna in her preparation to the 2018 Olympics.

I think Anna can win Skate America. Perhaps Skate Canada, too. But I have a good feeling about Skate America. Tell us all about it, when the time comes. And the only two Grand Prix wins left for Anna are the GP in France and Skate America. So that should be a good motivation, hehe.
