No one in the world can prepare you for this kind of situation and YET
+5 GOE for handling this incredibly difficult situation without flinching. Just sensitive to others, calm and polite. This is one of the reasons why other skaters love her!

Wow! I didn’t expect a message like this. I think Russian skaters might be my favourite on this forum. I like skaters from all Nationalities. But, I grew up rooting for a lot of the under dogs like Anna Tarusina (I cried after her accident) and Anastasia Tarakanova (kept switching coaches) from Russia. Sofia M. is my new favourite skater along with Daniil Samsonuv (please recover and compete) for the Men’s. Anna was my favourite of the participants at the Olympics. I was simply just trying to point out that the ROC federation screwed up by not picking Anna for the Team Event. The other federations used the team event as an opportunity to spread the wealth to other figure skaters from their countries to practice more, enjoy the experience, gain an easy medal or simply just to ease the burden from their skaters having to skate four times. I still don’t understand why Anna or Alexandra were not selected for one of the team event segments….. Gold medals mean a lot to these athletes and this was a lost opportunity. Had they chosen Anna or Alexandra, they would be assured at least a medal, as they would only lose 10 points instead of 20. They chose their “A” team to skate both segments and it is ironic that one of their B skaters won gold. I’m happy that Anna maintained a good perspective throughout this whole process and persevered. Good job Anna!
There were several rumors about the lack of substitutions: 1 was that the fed decided around Nationals that they wouldn't make any substitutions, the other 1 was that they were going to substitute ladies and pairs but a fight happened regarding the pairs and the Fed decided to make no substitutions at the last minute < the last 1 i think has some level of credibility Mamun reported that the girls waited up to find out the substitutions and Zagitova came out pretty strongly with a statement against not substituting Shcherbakova in, which given that she trained/trains with both Trusova and Shcherbakova I feel like she wouldn't have made a statement naming 1 over the other unless there was some rumblings that Shcherbakova was going to be substituted in

After watching this clip, I can only respect and admire Anna and her class more. The way in which she tries to assist Kaori, her elegance knowing she is a champion and fulfilling her dream to which she has been all her life and her temperance when seeing that her "friend" is out of her mind for not having won.
And I reaffirm that the sensationalist media only like to generate drama and add fuel to the fire, because "all the coaches ignored Anna", when in this clip you see that Daniil immediately goes to the salon to congratulate Anna almost after Kami received their scores.
And if Anna is the favorite of the group (as Sasha said when she left TT in 2020) it is because she has earned it.

Anna is absolut amazing. After the final result was there, everyone was loosing it (even Kaori). And Anna, just won the Olympic gold medal, is so calm, comforting Kaori and silently enjoying her win.
Very happy that Daniil went to her immediately to hug her. He is the one who matters the most for Anna.
