Anna Shcherbakova

oh my... little hips suffer
I worry about all this little ones health
Who wouldn't worry... honestly, I'd prefer Anna not to jump quads, with her artistry, she doesn't need to, she can be better than anyone else even without quads... well, maybe except Tiny Boss...

Anna is such a fighter! Hasn't stopped performing or emoting after that fall. Really impressive. And after seeing the program a second time, I think I can say for sure that this is my favourite SP from Gleikh this season.

But I gotta say, she is so tiny and fragile seeing her hit the ice like that really scared me.

Anna fell on her 3Lz-3Lo, but didn't let it affect the rest of her program at all. If anything, the step sequence was much better timed to the music than it was before, and the final spin was just gorgeous.

She wasn't clean, but fortunately for her, neither were most of the other competitors. She has 65 points, Nastya Tarakanova has 64, and the Korean girls have 60. The scores are quite low, which is unsurprising considering that it's Skate Canada.

In other news, Anna does a tano on her 2A now.

I wonder if she'll go for the 4Lz after this.

I really cannot imagine how anyone could give her a negative anything for that spin, much less -4... more likely that it was a mistake and the judge intented to give it a +4?

My heart seemed to stop at that 3Lo, it’s really unfortunate. But it is Anna, she is strong, talented, and a warrior at the end of the day.

When I was watching her at the warm-up, and I noticed she seemed a bit tired then, as if she has less energy. Not her usual self. If so, that could have impacted the program today.

My hope is that for her FS, she is well-rested, confident, strong and stable, and in the right place of mind.

She did good today! Well done to Anna for her charming SP

Anna did great in spite of the long travel and jet lag. I can't imagine being so functional two days after flying across the half planet. Usually skaters get to their competition venue a few days earlier and I don't know why they flew so late to Canada.

She could now risk it with the quad or not, it depends on her team's perception of Tarakanova being a rival and of course, on Anna herself.

She performed at 1am by the Moscow time....
She looked a little sleepy.

I am really worried about the fall, particularly hit to the chin :slink: It seemed to me that she cutted her tongue or losed her tooth judging by her facial expressions when she went out from ice. I really hope she would be ok tomorrow  I don't know about whether it is prudent to try 4Lz or 3Lz+3Lo tomorrow either - it seems both elements can be dangerous for her. But her position in tournament now score-wise is quite risky too :scratch2:

I noticed her chin also. I hope it is nothing to bad, I think worst case it will be sore for a few days, maybe bruised. It seemed like a hard fall, thankfully it appears she was not injured seriously (her arms, knees, spine, neck), just disappointed in the skate. She deserves so much success, I hope she’s good tomorrow, as well, and in good health.
