Anna Shcherbakova

So good news to wake up to!:luv17:
Anna looked more confident, you can tell she already is more used to her program, it lookes different and I think she will grow even more. Like a queen on the ice, she rulled it gracefully, being in control of every motion. Great quad attempt, she is really close to it, so I expect an explosive JGPF.

On the other hand, I was really expecting a score closer to 140. Her quad was clearly rotated, and I think her flip is just fine. The judges really have a problem with quads, otherwise I don't understand these decisions, it's such a hard jump and these girls really deserve to be rewarded for their skills and courage. Hope to see that in the final.

Great start for Anna's international career, with two undeniable wins, and she is continuously growing. I am so happy for her :luv17:

So, I just saw it. What's with the tech panel? UR 4Lz? That's even less justified than with Trusova. Unclear edges on flips? What? I just don't understand. Beside the fall, this was technical perfection, she was more confident and less nervous, which is remarkable after the first fall. I know she still won clearly, but it really seems like someone is trying to lower the scores unjustly.
Anna, you are a hero.:agree:

Maybe I’m reaching, but:

Since this is one of the first few competitions under the new system, I suspect that the technical panel was trying too hard to prove a point: That junior ladies shouldn’t need quads to be on the podium, that a lady with a quad shouldn’t be too far ahead of a lady without them. Because that was the whole premise of the GOE +5/-5 system, that you don’t need harder elements as long as your easy elements are clean.

Thus, to make her score as close to the other girls as possible, they went overboard trying to lower Anna’s score to justify the new system, and to prove that ladies shouldn’t need quads. But now it just looks ridiculous because we have eyes and we can see that the quad wasn’t UR and the flips weren’t unclear edges.

It would be a different situation if the tech panel was just harsh. But no, they were harsh only on her. That quad wasn’t any less rotated than some of the ratified triples that we saw from the other girls. And her flips certainly weren’t on as much of an outside edge as the other girls’: Look at You Young’s or Tarakanova’s.

She also received questionable GOE for a few elements. Two judges only gave her +1 for her stunning layback, and there’s also the question of that -4 for that SP spin that the other judges all gave her +4 and +5 for.

This prejudice against quads resulting in URs, edges works in the non intended way.
Now ladies (and girls) understand very clearly: having more difficult jumps may compensate this prejudice.

The Board will soon have to clear glasses and I'm sure we'll see fully rotated quads with positive GOE at the end of this year or early next one.

Better to have some other quad girl, non-Russian, available.
And as soon as she lands some quads those pitiful URs of Trusova and Shcherbakova are no more.

Congrats for 2nd win and being the first to qualify for JGPF!! Hopefully she will he on the podium at JGPF again [emoji170]

Who?

Anyone. AFAIR a lot of girls practiced quads.
Most of them wait for better time (2021, I think) to show themselves...
hahaha. It's a sport. nobody will wait for ... the Second Coming , to show something incredible like quad.
If somebody could jump quad they would have already shown it.
Simply put, just about anyone can't simply go and start learning quads(Or even 3As). There are some requirements. You can try to practice but it doesn't mean you will be able to do it.

ISU biography roaster shows quite a few active female skaters with "landed quad in practise".

I don’t know, I thought so because of his facial expression 😄 but maybe he just realized that the victory sign begin her head might look like bunny ears 😄
