Anna Shcherbakova

4Lz 3F-3T 2A 3S // 3Lz-3Lo 3F-2T-2Lo 3Lz
BV (just jumps) = 56.1
last season she did CCoSp4 FCCoSp4 LSp4 and StSq4 = 13,6
total: 69,7

2A - 3.3
4lz - 11.5
difference = 8.2

It would be better if she did 3S after 1Lo and added a second 2A instead, but maybe her 3S isnt strong enough to do that... Well, it could also be done with a flip Or would that be too ambitious?

Well it couldn't be done with a flip unless she changed to a 3S-3T or 3S-2T-2Lo...

with this layout she can easily change one of two 3lz to 2a if something went wrong with 4lz. fo example... if she tripled it.
it will be more difficult if she already have two 2a. :scratch2:

4Lz 3F-3T 2A 3S // 3Lz-3Lo 3F-2T-2Lo 3Lz = 56.1
4Lz 3F-3T 2A 2A // 3Lz-3Lo 3F-1lo-3S 3Lz = 57.08
(difference is 1 point)

she can get a little bit more GOE if she will do 3F and 2A-3T
MAX GOE for solo 2A = +1.65
MAX GOE for 2A-3T = +2.10

4Lz 3F-3T 2A 3S // 3Lz-3Lo 3F-2T-2Lo 3Lz
I think her current layout is smart.
if 4Lz went wrong she can change on of 3lz to 2a
If first 3F went wrong she will add 3t to 2a
and she have one solo jump in the second half and if one of the combos didn't work out she can try to do it with this jump.

That's true, it's a safety net. Trusova didn't have such a safety net though, hm... Maybe it's not so important at this point but I feel like even the 1 point could end up being crucial.

I was thinking something like 2A-1Lo-3F

I don't see how it would get her more points than this: (4Lz 3F-3T 2A 2A // 3Lz-3Lo 3F-1lo-3S 3Lz)
if you can jump -3lo combo. there're no point in -1Lo-3F.

She had)
she started with: 4S // 3Lz3Lo 3F2T2T 3Lz3T 3F 3S 2A. She had plenty of opportunities to fix any mistake she could made. If she tripled her first 4S she could jump 2A instead of planned 3S. If she missed any combo she could fix it with any of the last three solo jumps.
Her planned JWC layout was: 4S 4T // 3Lz-3Lo 3F-1lo-3S 3Lz3T 3F 2A. She did missed her first combo and did: 4S 4T // 3Lz 3F-1lo-3S 3Lz-3Lo 3F3T 2A And she also could use 2a as a back up for combo too.

I don't see how it would get her more points than this: (4Lz 3F-3T 2A 2A // 3Lz-3Lo 3F-1lo-3S 3Lz)
if you can jump -3lo combo. there're no point in -1Lo-3F.
The reason is, I expect her to not be so comfortable with -1Lo-3S because 3S is her worst jump so maybe -1Lo-3F would be easier... It'd end up giving the same amount of points.

I didn't remember she had that layout to start the season though, that's interesting. I guess they might aim to increase the difficulty for Shcherbakova as the season goes on if she has success. Hope she does!

Trusova is also a lot more consistent than Shcherbakova...
And she already has 2 3F's, so to make a 2A-1Lo-3F, one of the other 3F's will need to be changed to a 3S -- leaving at either 3S-3T instead of 3F-3T or 3S-2T instead of 3F-2T-2Lo (making the 2A-1Lo-3F the 3-jump combo)

Hmmm, not sure how to feel about that, I'm not a big fan of such music, I think it's too serious and "heavy".. at least I hope the SP will be totally different.. because Anna is capable of wonderful things.. ;)

Serious and "heavy" is good!

I think that that's exactly what would work for her at the moment. I think it'll be wonderful when she is able to work on it over the season. Especially if she gets her jumps so that she's very comfortable with them. It does feel a bit rushed at times but she's had the tendency to improve that quite a bit over the course of a season in the past.

What I love is that the team isn’t sticking to one specific style with Anna. I was worried that they’d stick to pretty lyrical themes because they work so well for Anna. We’ve seen with Evgenia and Alina that the trend with Eteri’s girls (SEEMS) to be that once one style succeeds, they stick with it and redo the same style for the new seasons. Alina with her “warhorses”, and Evgenia with her lyrical themes. But they don’t seem to be doing that with Anna.

Assuming Anna keeps her SP from last season (she’s had it for what, three months? It seems like a waste to create a new one), that means she’ll be competing Nocturne and Rondo Capriccioso next season, and while they’re both considered classical music, they’re pretty much on the opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to style. One is pretty, airy, balletic and light - very fairy-like, which is what we already know Anna can do. The other is intense, powerful, and mature. It shows off her versatility.

It’ll definitely be a challenge for her, because I don’t think she’s ever had music like this before, but I hope that it’ll help her grow as a skater, and become more versatile and open to new styles. If she’s going to experiment with new styles, now is a great time.

And what, she actually has really good English.
It's really impressive, especially if she never lived abroad. Nikita Filatov, the hockey player, was noted for speaking really good English before coming to the NHL. Turns out, his mother is an English teacher and gave him lessons at home.

What's Anya's secret?

Woah, I’ve been so afk on golden skate and this thread...cause I’ve been trying to keep up with all Anna’s posts and everything ! [emoji23] suddenly for those few days she was so active on Instagram. I’m so happy she had a good experience after she couldn’t go last year! [emoji7][emoji7][emoji24] also, the beautiful program she skated (I love the music and costume, she is so grown up all of a sudden[emoji33][emoji24][emoji7]) ([emoji54] and she already does so well at her first ice show, with that weird lighting and everything) is it going to be her FS? I’ve seen rumours mainly in Russian tho so I can’t really read them
