Anna Shcherbakova

Anna was landing quads effortlessly well before Trusova landed her first one.
But Trusova has more consistency and experience in attempting the quads in actual comps. Anna still needs to attempt one in competitions.

They completely looks like 3Lz even to trained eye. Only slowing down the video it becomes possible to discern extra rotation there. Anna and her crazy rotation speed :laugh2: Therefore I wonder..is it possible that judges will ratify her 4Lz as 3Lz?:slink: After they found UR in Trusova's clean 4Lz - I wouldn't be surprised of anything :rolleye:

I bet training with Trusova has some benefits such as being able to see how to land quads effortlessly, although I guess they started landing quads fairy similarly.
To me they have absolutely different way of jumping. Trusova's quads are more powerful, athletic type of jumps - rotated more by gaining enough height. While Anna's jumps are more of technician type- rotated more by speed. Therefore it seems to me that Anna jumps are more easy physically and less straining the body. Of course they both requres tremendous level of control - but somehow I am less concerned about her falling from 4Lz since it doesnt look as dangerous as Trusova's.

Hopefully she won't need to wait for long!

They're so smooth, light and effortless! I so want her to land it in competition.

Anna's quad Lutz jumps have had the same amount of air time as Trusova's quad Lutz jumps... 19/30 frames of air time. Actually, Anna's even had a couple of 4Lutz jumps with 20/30 frames of air time while I've seen no such jumps by Trusova. So that's not quite right - Anna indeed rotates significantly faster but also doesn't lose out in an air time comparison. That also tends to be why she actually rotates the 4Lutz much better and doesn't hook very much at all on landing.

Maybe so.. but it's strange considering that two above videos. Lutzes there were rather low and short comparing to Trusova's 4Lz specs.. in fact their height seemed to me comparable to typical 3Lz height. However the height and length of that famous Anna's 4Lz+3T+3Lo combination was HUGE. Why there is so much difference? Is it possible that camera angle can affect perceived specs of a jump so much? 0_0

Well, both are 19/30 frames. I guess this one's on the lower end of the 19/30 frames(obviously, the margin of error is within 1 frame) but that's a very minor difference... And I doubt that she learned to hover in the air, fairy as she may be.
