Anna Shcherbakova

The way Anna closes her free skate out is very spectacular and dramatic. Kind of artistic as well. I think that makes a great impact on the judges. Kamila has kind of a dramatic close to her free skate as well but Annas is spectacular.

Maybe Anna should consider keeping this fantastic free skate for the Olympic season.

Big interview with Anna, I hope there will be a translation or some summary.

Summarizing shortly, she is saying that she expected the SP to be hard for her because she had the same shortage of breathing during her training. But at least she was absolute sure that she could make it till the end.

Her FS was much more nervous, because she didn't practice it as a whole in a while and her skate right at the championship was the first one in a long time. She said it was difficult to set the right mood because usually she tells herself 'you did it at the training, just do again' but now she had to do something what she hadn't done on the training for weeks. She also said that this set with 2 quads was initially planned for Rostelecom.

I heard interesting details in the interview, mainly about emotions, impressions and tears around and inside. Anna didn’t know how the girls before her compete, but on the ice she occasionally looked on the up screen and saw high points, at the moment she started to count who and how got these points but firmly said herself don't count, full concentration to the own program. She didn't think about the medals, she knows she simply must do everything she can do in her state. Anna answered that successful quads at the beginning of the program give a lot of positive energy and a question of canceling them even not considered.

I actually liked her short program more than her long. And I hope she keeps that sp for next year.
She definitely made that long program epic and emotional. But the program itself is kind of... eh I don't know.
I hope they'll go with something real big for her long program next year, like Scheherazade or Rachmaninoff 2. If there is anyone out there that has the ability to actually feel and interpret the highs and lows of these pieces, it's Anna. ❤️💗
Anna as the 💃Scheherazade 💃 what a performance it would be... magical 💗💫

I think you'll get your wish and keep the SP and do something big for the free skate. Anna is going to want to want more input now so this should be interesting.
