Anna Shcherbakova

Wow, that's really a big sponsorship. Not only because the company is big. Many big companies do a few bigger and many smaller sponsorship.
There is a very elaborate commercial starring Anna and I guess it will be broadcast to be seen by wide audiences.
That's really great and I'm very happy for Anna.
Nice!

She deserves it. Everyone, young and old, can take inspiration from her.

The blueprint for what a top level athlete should be. I won’t even list all the attributes, I’ll be typing for a week straight if I did. Haha

Blitz interview on "1st channel":

translate:

Max: [sings] "Oh, what a bliss to know that you are perfect, to know that you are ideal!" (a fragment of a song from an old Soviet movie about Mary Poppins)
Anna: [laughing confusedly] What is it ... Terrible, I'm hot, my heart is beating and my hands are shaking
Max: Okay ...
Anna: I'm less nervous at competitions! Let me go, please!

Max: Hello everyone, this is the "90 seconds challenge", with you Maxim Trankov and with us a new guest - the perfection of Russian figure skating Anna Shcherbakova! Anya, hello.
Anna: Hello!
Max: In 90 seconds I have to ask the maximum number of questions, and Anna has to answer them without thinking. All clear?
Anna: Yes!
Max: Then let's go. How are you?
Anna: Okay.
Max: What did you do yesterday after training?
Anna: I went to bed.
Max: What TV show are you watching now?
Anna: Gathering my strength for the Squid Game.
Max: The perfect breakfast for you is ...
Anna: Syirniks (Сырники).
Max: Who is the funniest in your group?
Anna: Someone who has had a good training.
Max: East or West?
Anna: East.
Max: Do they recognize you on the street?
Anna: It happens sometimes.
Max: Would you like to be president?
Anna: No.
Max: Favorite city or country to perform in?
Anna: Japan.
Max: Dogs or cats?
Anna: Both dogs and cats.
Max: Who was the last one to write you a message before this interview?
Anna: Sister.
Max: What is your favorite subject at school?
Anna: Russian language.
Max: Hanyu or Chen?
Anna: I don't know. Both Chen and Hanyu.
Max: Where is the best place to invest your money?
Anna: In stock.
Max: What word do you use the most?
Anna: I don't know.
Max: Who comes to training before everyone else?
Anna: Our choreographer.
Max: Favorite place in Moscow?
Anna: Khrustalny.
Max: Favorite song right now?
Anna: Many different ones, I don't know ...
Max: What is your main fear?
Anna: Insects and all kinds of aquatic life.
Max: What are you most proud of?
Anna: World Championship medal.
Max: Your style icon?
Anna: Eteri Georgievna (Tutberidze)
Max: So now the most important question - how many questions do you think you answered?
Anna: 21.
Max: Twenty one... You are the first person who guessed exactly how many questions you answered!

enough old article, right after Grand Prix Italy:

Anna talks about her new program, plans for the Olympics and the more distant future. The text is easy to read with a usual machine translator. But if anyone needs it, I can translate

Interesting. Even though it was much easier than Russian titles.. ;) But of course, it's much more prestigious...
From interview for rsports.ria:

- These competitions (World Championship and RusNats) are difficult in different ways. The Russian Championship is over and only positive emotions remain, it was a fireworks of joy, and with the World Championship, more complex memories of preparation for it, training, the atmosphere, which was tense.

Good luck! Anechka...))

Ok, I have questions about the new SP, such as why? At the moment, I like the old one better, which may simply be because it was more polished, but it also seemed really quite satisfactory as a programme, so I don't understand the motivation for the change. This one seems like it will be quite challenging, with the rapid tempo, and is packed with choreographic details, from the jerky arm movements to the many, many transitions; it will be interesting to see what Anna makes of it as she has time to become more familiar with it.

Edit: SP pictures!

Edit again: Anna spoke a little about the new SP in the press conference.

Google translate:

Anna Shcherbakova commented on her performance:

“The idea to change the combination came up during the morning workout. We finally decided on a warm-up before the program. I needed to focus more on the movements in the program itself, so we decided to replace the rittberger with a toeloop in a combination with lutz.

Today I was a little nervous because for the first time I skated my new short program. There were many small mistakes, but in general, everything was in order for today. We decided to change the program after the previous Grand Prix. It was Daniil Gleichengauz's idea."

So it was Daniil's idea to change the SP. I wonder why.

work on new SP with Daniil live talk:
Thanks for sharing this! 1tv and Khrustalny are very kind to give us such detailed looks behind the scenes; I'm impressed with how quickly Anna learned the choreography, seemingly in one session!

More photos of the SP (but dear me, that last photo in the series, that is certainly a choice).

And the video of the SP from the ISU YouTube channel, with Mark Hanretty commentary (also geoblocking applies).

Hmmm, the only thing I can think of now that I'm still a bit shocked is that I think they are trying to make her look more mature and get more points from the program. I sure liked the previous one and also the dress better.
