Nothing wrong with not saying anything, IMO. I just happen to prefer the more outspoken attitude of some other skaters.

Sarah Hughes and AP are 2 of the more outspoken ones about their ambition.

But if the "I want to skate my best" standard fare works best for some skaters, they can knock themselves out.

In 95 - 96 season when Kwan was 15 y/o there was a serious death threat from some guy in Paris. The FBI, and French police were involved, and GPF was in Paris that year. She did well, winning every competition she entered that year, but I speculate that must had changed her a lot, I don't blame her for being quiet, who wants to say too much taking the risk of another death threat. Actually prior to 95 - 96 season Kwan was quite a little fireball, e.g. taking the senior test w/o Frank's blessing
