Anthony posted about his Nats experience, along with photos. I love the photo (six) where he is painting Coach Yvan's nails to match his. (and I did love that scene in the KnC after his free where everyone showed their nails, coaches and Anthony)

He does say that he will check his laces twice at Junior Worlds:D

Congratulations Anthony on finishing junior worlds in grand style, with a captivating free..

The judges had him first in Choreo and second in spins (we won't talk about PCS, he needs some time to increase his reputation points ;) )

Here's hoping for those two spots in the JGP next year.

An article on junior Québecois athletes to look out for includes an interview with Anthony.

Anthony says that his disappointing result at JGP Osaka made him realize he "many things" about his work ethic and his training. "In Japan, I was half the skater that I am now". He worked not only on skating, but on nutrition and sleep.

"I have changed so much in one year! I am more authentic on the ice and people like that. Before, I was playing characters and working in order to hide myself behind a shell".

(Translations and paraphrases are mine.)

What a joy for us that he is his authentic self.:hap10:

Skate Canada featured Anthony's chair exhibition in July's email newsletter!

New senior national team member Anthony Paradis performed a unique chair-skating routine at #PatinageAtypique – a unique ice show raising support and awareness for adults with autism this past
And he is now a senior team member, competing senior nationally, but junior internationally.

That's what I meant as one of my questions in the thread about adaptive skating equipment -- working a chair as part of the program. I was asking if any old chair could be used and wondered if it had to have a particular style of legs to ensure it didn't suddenly shoot away from the skater when leaned on. That one seems to have both U leg at the back and II legs at the front, but maybe it doesn't matte. Perhaps control is up to the skater and how much weight they put on it from arm's length or up close. I was asking on behalf of a skater at my club, but I'd love to try it myself!
