Any Sasha updates?

Ha you both know nothing. In reality everyone knows that Michelle is planning to petition for a bye to the Olympics despite skipping the last five years including nationals and she will get it stealing a place from the silver medalist at nationals this year.

you're probably right and that is her evil Kwanspiracy....

you know, the more words I put "Kwan" in, the more I feel I'm talking like Elmer Fudd.

Ha to you Ant....but what we do know is that this is all Kwan-tingent on if she doesn't Kwan-draw.

Hopefully, she will have a costume that is Kwan-ducive for a gold medalist.

Don't worry Sasha will be safe as the gold medalist which she will be awarded on a golden platter following a performance with waltz jumps and a single axel (hey she has to meet the axel type jump requirement) because of her master plan of bribing the USFSA into brainwashing it's judges into puttin gher 1st.

That was my dream from a few nights ago. In my dream last night, Alissa did a 4t-3t in her LP and won and Mirai came in 2nd and did a 3a. The Olympic Committee then made an exception and let Sasha go too, even though she only did one triple in her SP and FS ( a flutz of course), her score was 200 points though.

BREAKING NEWS----------USFA just announced that Michelle Kwan is indeed going to try for her last Olympic gold at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver--- "She said that if she don't win, she'll die trying". Good for her.:clap::clap::clap:

Don't play with me Millie... that's just mean! Espcially since I just figured out that Nationals is broken up over two weekends... who allowed this to happen? I demand an explanation... I shall blame RD. Anything to keep Sasha off the ice... :scowl::scowl::banging:

Wasn't Michelle invited to skate an exhibition program at Natls - and didn't she turn them down?

Hey guys, just to push this thread back to the topic at hand, although I do love all of your often humorous commentary :agree:

When is Sasha arriving for Nationals? I know I read somewhere that she'd be arriving a little early to begin preparations. I just can't wait until she arrives and people can finally see how she's been doing in her practices. Thanks!

I dunno... I was hoping she'd do commentary - who knows? Last update on MK, she was in Korea, but nothing on nationals...sigh... and the world continues to be a darker place...

Sasha plans to arrive at Nationals two days prior the start of the Ladies' SP, which I believe is next Thursday. So, Sasha should be there a week from today.

Thanks MKFSfan. I'm just dying to read a practice report about her. I'm a huggeee Sasha fan. :)

SC: I'm not feeling that nervous, crazy, intense pressure going in. The reason is, it's what I want to do, not what I have to do. Of course I'm nervous, but it's a good nervous.

DW: Ladies' figure skating, as you know because you lived it, is a young woman's game. What makes you convinced you can hang with the youngsters in this country, let alone worldwide?

SC: I'm skating as well as I have in a long time. I've watched the recent Grand Prixs, and I think I measure up.

DW: Upon your arrival in Spokane, you undoubtedly will be asked about the unfinished business of not winning Olympic gold. How big of a motivator was that?

SC: Not that big, to be honest. Of course I want to win a gold medal. Who wouldn't? But this time around, it's about the journey, not the destination. I missed the challenge, the struggle

Alright! Speculation, uberism and haterism aside... this sounds like Nationals just might be interesting after all... C'mon Sasha... show us what ya got!

Sorry that you and so many others miss the Kween. I do too.

But Sasha may show us something nice - and as you said her return does make it more interesting.

People might not believe it but I will be pulling for Rachael and Ashley to skate their best. Alissa and Caroline too. And for Mirai - the one I think might have a chance to win some major medals in the future.

Put 'em all together and maybe it will be enough to fill the void left by Michelle.
Maybe not for some - but these are our girls and two of them will be going to Vancouver.

Maybe Michelle will be in Vancouver doing some commentary - I really haven't heard anything about it but would not be surprised if we see and hear from her during the Ladies event. Wouldn't that be great!

Oh yeah, I definately miss Michelle but I am very excited to see if Sasha still has the goods...my number issue with her had always been that she didn't fight for herself. Yes, she was always a diva but really and truly fight for it... it was like the biggest waste of talent.

But now - I'm hopeful that she's really ready to take her spot as one of the greats. It doesn't matter if she wins - it matters if she fights.

As for the rest of the field -
I look forward to seeing Mirai skate as always but she's got time and that is true for Caroline and maybe Ashley.

Alissa this is probably her last shot - will she rise to the occasion or will she not? BeBe is in the same boat - you want to root for them but then, they hit the ice, you get caught up and then SPLAT! These two are like bad prom dates - lots of anticipation, but you start looking for a ride home half way in...

Ashley is hit or miss for me - sometimes I love her, sometimes I don't. We'll see.

I am also interested in seeing Emily. Haven't heard much, but even if she doesn't skate well - I hope for a chance to scream "TA DA!" when she finishes an element... Its just not Nationals without her smug little smirk - LOVE her!

YAY! IT'S ALMOST NATIONALS!!!

The best part was that "still got it!" face at the end. :)

I know... she's so awesome... LOVE HER!!!:bow::bow:

Granted, the jumps are limited - but to my untrained eye, it looked just as good as what I've seen this season...

I really hope Alissa doesn't do a repeat of '06, the poor girl she's stuck around for so long I'd hate to see her efforts be for nothing (I guess she did get to go to worlds twice :agree:). Bebe I think is all but out of this competition. I really hope to see Caroline and Mirai come back fighting at nationals after stupid Skate Canada and show the world.....yeah, we actually are really good!

Too bad she's not like Tonya Harding - showing up in teh news leading up to nationals.

speaking of which we should be hearing something out of her soon, right? ;)
