Nice article. I was interested to hear that this 21-year-old skater was the first Swede ever to land a triple Axel. Considering that Sweden used to be a perennial skating powerhouse (back in the days of Ulrich Salchow, anyway), it was a big surprise to me that Swedish skaters have not kept pace lately.
An interesting quote about Berntssen's skating experiences as a boy: "Skating school was an all-guy group, so it was a lot of fun and I stayed in (figure) skating, (instead of hockey, which was boring)."
A big contrast with the United States where you are lucky to have one or two boys in an otherwise all-girl class!
